Math & Science Grade 1-3

I don't think you can learn algebraic equations in a low grade. It is simple enough if you just solve by hand or by a calculator.

Solve for y, when x = 1325.
x - 450 = y

1325 - 450 = y
y = 875

4ln(5x)=12

To evaluate the expression you need the value of x.
To solve you do as follows
ln(5x)=12/4=3
Take the exponential of both sides of ln(5x)=3
e^(ln(5x))=5x=e^(3)
This gives x=(1/5) e^(3)

How do I input an = sign into an algebraic equation using an elw535

There is no need to enter an = sign in an algebraic equation because the EL-W535 does not handle them. It has only 3 modes : The computational mode, a statistics mode and drill mode (to learn or practice operation tables). Thus any press of the = sign will execute the command you typed. If you just entered an expression, the = sign will have it evaluated using the current values of the variables you used. If you have not stored anything in a variable, the calculator will use 0.
You can use the 4 D keys to store a function key for example SINH^-1. You cannot even store in them an elaborate formula, just a function key or a shifted function key.
Sorry for the limitations of the calculator. To have more functions you should look for the EL-W516.

Im trying to use Algebra on the new calculator I bought, as its important for my school use. As an example, I write: 3x+3x and that result is 0? How come? Shouldn't it be 6x?

This calculator cannot do algebra ( manipulating expressions with letter symbols) . It does not have a CAS (computer Algebra System). All it can do is evaluate (find the numerical value of) expressions typed in. If it has the appropriate keys to enter variables such as A,B,C, or X and Y., and you entered an expression with variables it will use the numerical values stored in the variables. If you have not stored anything in a variable, it is given the value 0 by default.

How do you program the order of operations into the calc?

The order of evaluation is fixed. You can override this order in an expression by using parenthesis. For example, 3+4*5 is evaluated by multiplying 4 by 5 and then adding 3. If you want to do the addition first, you can enter it as ( 3 + 4 ) * 5 .

The order of evaluation is given in the "Equation Operating System" section of Chapter 1 of the manual.

How do I get my calculater to and and simplify completely 5xto the third power over 6xyto the second power divided by 10x over 3xy to the fourth power for variable y

The calculator does not have a CAS (Computer Algebra System). Therefore it cannot do symbolic algebra. It can only calculate numerical values.

You can enter algebraic expressions with symbols (X, variable), Y, A,B,C,D, and M but they will just be evaluated with the current values of A, B,C,D, Y, and M. If you use the SOLV program the unknown variable must be X.
