Acer laptop the screen is totally black when i turn it on

if you still have lights on the laptop working but no lcd display and it sounds like the hard drive is booting then it could be lcd inverter or lcd display also check your memory that could be bad but if you have no power and no lights then its more than likely power on board

It is impossible to give you a a repair cost because I cannot identify the exact fault without looking and running tests on your laptop. I do not know the labour and parts costs in Malaysia.
I suggest you take your laptop to a computer repair shop and get a quote to fix your laptop.

I would try unplugging the laptop, remove the battery for a few seconds and then put back and then try to turn on. See what happens and go from there.

There could be the resolution problem .. if you can only enter to safe mode you can restore it ... and if not there is a hardware problem which means that it can only be none when cheching it out...

If it is a brand new machine, I think you should call Acer tech support, as it is covered under warranty. Sometimes people have the urge to take it apart to see what might be wrong, but in a machine covered by warranty, this would be a bad choice!
