DVD-R120 hookup for recording

It seems as though I cannot hook my DVDR120 up to record, because all of my inputs/outputs are occupied. I've read through the forums, manual, and I still cannot find a solution to my problem.
All of my equipment goes through my receiver, which means that I have nowhere else to plug in to record...
Please help, or else I'm gonna just hook up the old dvd player....

You will have to hook up your recorder directly to your TV or use as a stand alone recorder.
Other possibility is to buy a 2 way video switch. This will allow you to hook up two video machines to the same input jacks on the RCVR. You just swith between the two devices manually.
Radio Shack usually have these input swithches under $30.

Samsung DVD-R120, can I save what?s on a DVD-R that won?t play?

If it will not play either on the recorder it was recorded on or any other player, you need professional help retrieving the data. There are places where this can be done, but it will probably cost MANY times what the disc does.

SAMSUNG DVD R120 error EC:0207

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.

Samsung dvdr-120

try checking on the recording mode of the DVD. V recording mode produces more compatible DVD disc. Stay away from VR mode. You may refer to your manual.
