How to turn standby off

We have a Sony Trinitron Weg KV-32FS120 32"TV.
For some strange reason the standby button is flashing & we can not get the TV to turn on. Have tried the remote and power button on the front panel. We have also tried resetting and this hasn't worked.
Anybody know how to turn off the standby and have the TV turn on again.
We are desperate & nothing in the manual seems to work
Thanks
Carol

The TV circuit may have detected a problem within its parts. You may have to check some leaking capacitors in the board or loose solders or burned components just to make sure. Normally leaving the TV unplugged overnight should reset it.

Sony Trinitron KV-27FV310 won't stay on, standby button flashes around 10 times, help please?

Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board

This unit shouldb e flashing a repeated count on the standby light. That count will indicate the circuit in which a problem was detected causig the shutdown. Please post that count and we should be able to provide details on the repair.
