This Samsung CLX 3175FN started having problems printing a couple weeks ago. It would print the letterhead on a page, but when it got to the body of the letter it printed a column on the left side. It looked like all the characters for the line were printed on top of each other in a column 1 character wide on the left side of the page. It was an occational problem. Most times it would print properly.
Now it refuses to print at all, and the LCD is flashing the message "Replace /install waste toner bin.
I talked to Samsung support, and they said that the main board probably needed to be replaced. The printer is out of warranty. Is that a repair that I can do, and where would I obtain a main board?
I have just now, taken the waste toner bin out, squirted in some hand soap and water. Shook vigorously and rinsed it out. the CLX-3175 is working a treat again !
WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!
Thank you!!! You saved me lots of money and time! I took the bin out and shook out all the powder carefully into a plastic bag with a zip seal (take care it's a dirty job). The bin is the box next to the colour cartridges in front of the machine. Find it on the left with the letters for the colours on it. It will come out when you take cartridges out first and then pull on the small handle at the bottom left. After cleaning insert all elements in reverse order and make sure they click in place. The machine is working now without even washing the bin! Aldona
LOVE U SO MUCH. WORKS!!!

Hi,
The max of the OPC can go is up to 25K +/- it seems like your OPC got to replace. waster toner have to be replace every after 8 - 10K print. you do not have to replace the main board. the Waste Toner dosen't cost much but for the OPC (Image drum) it will cost alot more.
After emptying into outside trash. washed with dish soap and water let dry for 20 mins and works great!
