If you save the files in an Open Office format compatible with Office 2007, people with Office 2003 or older won't be able to read them. Save your documents in an Office 2003 format and they should be able to read them...unless they have Office 98, in which case they should get into the 21st century and update to 2003!

How can i free download this program of microsoft word 2007?

I dont think you can legally download this version for free.
You can get a free 60 day trial of the lastest 2010 version of the product, but cant find one for 2007.

A free alterative to microsoft office is open office which you can get from : www.openoffice.org

I currently have microsoft office professional 2007 trial version which has expired. If I don't want to order it and just go back to my 2003 version can I just cancel the 2007 version? Will it just convert...

If you still have the installation CD for Microsoft Office 2003 and the key that goes with it, you can un-install the Trial version of Office 2007 and install Office 2003. Files saved Office 2007 format are not redable with Office 2003.

To preserve your files (the ones made with Office 2007) you must go through the following procedure:
  1. Open each file with the application that created it (Word, Excel, Powepoint, or what have you)
  2. If it its a Word 2007 file save it in Word2003 format
  3. If it is an Excel 2007 file save it in the Excel 2003 format.
  4. Etc.
This is only necessary if you intend to modify them at some later time.
If you only want to read (not modify) them you can still do that because Microsoft offers a free Word viewers.

Other free software you can use to open files created with Office 2007 is OpenOffice.org 3. You might lose some formatting but the files will be accessible to you.

This is the about page of Microsoft Office 2007 (Microsoft® Office Word 2007 (12.0.6212.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000)) I?ve used your codes and countless others and none seem to work. I am working...

If you installed Office 2007, it configures itself as the program to be used to "open" any 'DOC' files.

If Word 2000 is still installed, start it.
Then, use 'File' and 'Open' to select & read your file from your USB flash-drive.

I have a windows vista that had Microsfot office home and student 2007 pre installed. I did open up the trial version and used it for a project. well it has been long expired and every time i save...

You won't lose the data files, but you bring up a good point. I would use Word Pad and try opening a couple of the files. If they open correctly, you'll be safe to uninstall MS Office.

If it doesn't open, try to convert them to a simple text file or a .rtf file in MS Office by opening them and choosing Save As and save them that way.

My 30 day trial of MS Office hasn't yet expired

Hi Paul

The provision of Product-Keys is the sole responsibility of Microsoft. We get many requests from frustrated users of their 'Trial Packages'.
They want you to buy the package now. I like to give other options.

As an alternative, might I suggest Open Office from Sun Micro.
  • It is a full office productivity suite.
  • You can open and modify any file type MS-Office can
  • IT"S Free
  • You can download the package from their site right now!
Either way you choose, best of luck to you.

Unable to save anything!

You are still using a trial version of the office. Microsoft Windows office will not allow you to save once your trial version expires. Check to be sure you have a full version.
Uninstall all former versions.
Check your system clock to be sure its using a current date and time.
Install the full version of windows office and you should be ok. Cheers

Microsoft office 2007 home and student edition trial expired without using

It depends which trial version was downloaded. You can't reinstall the same trial download but they do have other trial downloads.

There is a student 2007, small business 2007, professional 2007 etc. versions. You can download each one of these if you have not already used these trial versions. They all offer the basics...Word, Excell, Powerpoint, Outlook with added software depending on what version you download.
