Video card suddenly messes up

Ok, monitors were working fine, now everytime i try to open sony vegas and make it span over both screen, only my left screen shows vegas and my right shows an hourglass when i scroll over it. i had recently plugged an s-video cable into the video card, but i fail to see where that would be a problem. if I leave vegas open and then right click on the desktop to bring up the drop down menu the other screen appears for the duration of however long I have the menu open.

That sounds to me like there is a problem with the sony vegas installation, or maybe an entirely separate issue with windows. Butit is highly unlikely that it is a video card issue.

Powermac screen developed fine black grid and won't operate properly

Isolate the problem to see if it's the screen or video card by connecting another monitor to the computer. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok without a problem then your original screen is bad and your video card is good. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same problems as your original then your video card inside the computer is bad.

Asus crosshair socket am2 motherboard not booting

Sounds like your monitor is bad. Try another monitor because if the video card was bad and the monitor is working you would get a No Signal message on the screen. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as your original monitor and does not display anything, then there is an issue with your video card.

My Sony Vaio PCV J100 turns on but no nothing comes on the screen/monitor. I have checked the monitor but it works fine on other computers. What could be the problem?

If your monitor works fine on another computer then most possibly its your video card since you said nothing comes on. Usually if its the operating system you should see the computer info before it goes to a blank screen. If you have an add on video card try using the integrated video card or vise versa. You can also use a known good video card from another computer.

Sony Vegas Movie studio 8.0 - I put in pictures, video and music, but only the music plays. No video or photos appear when I play the video

Because Sony Vegas support WMV, MPG (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4), MP4, MOV, ASF, SWF, FLV, etc. It doesn't support .avi format. So I want to know your video files format.

If ur video file format is .avi format or other video format that Sony Vegas doesn't support. We need convert AVI files into WMV, MPG, MP4, MOV supported by Sony Vegas. AVI to Sony Vegas is a good solution to import AVI to Sony Vegas for editing.

Video Converter Platinum is the most advanced AVI to Sony Vegas Converter software which can convert HD videos (inc.HD TS, HD MPG, HD MPEG, HD MP4, HD AVI), TOD, MOD, MTS, AVI (DivX, Xvid, etc.), QuickTime Video, 3GP, VOB, etc to Sony Vegas.

Monitor screen turns off new monitor new video card had problem

If you've replaced the monitor with a new one, it's probably not a monitor problem. Try uninstalling the video card and use the motherboard's on-board video. If that's not working, check into getting a new motherboard. If it works fine, check the settings on your video card.

During use playing games the screen suddenly went black; i operate two monitors simultaneously and the cable works fine on the other monitor and both graphics cards are working, any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi, if you loose video on both monitors, that means there is a problem with the video cards. I guess you already tried to update the video drivers to the latest ones, so the only thing remaining is maybe an hardware problem with the video card. Try to play your game at a lower screen resolution and see what happens. Also, if you have a flatscreen monitor, try to lower the refresh rate at the default 65Hz or 70Hz. If after 30 min or so you still loose your image, make sure the monitors are still powered (usually the green light will turn orange awaiting a singal to open and turn green then) Some video cards got some issues with heat after a certain amount of time. Something about GNU but i'm not 100% positive. Anyway, in that case, you may have to replace your video card, god of waranty please be with us! good luck

Sony vegas editing problems

This "red preview screen" is usually caused when your project consists of: 1. Too many video/sound layers.
2. sometimes it's enough to have a single layer project which has a 'heavy' picture, i.e., resolution higher than 300pix/inch or/and excessive width&height measurements.
Vegas will then--in some cases--stop functioning.
The easiest solution will be to edit your picture and reduce the resolution with e.g., Photoshop by "Resizing" the "Image size".
Another possibility is to locate more RAM (memory) to Vegas in the program Preferences-->Video (tab). It's 128mb by default. If you enough memory in your hardware, try raising the value.

You pointed out that the crash happens when you start the program. It could very well be that your software tries to load your recent project. If you cannot get into Vegas's Preferences--for the software always crashes, then try pressing the Escon your keyborad as soon as the splash screen disappears. Then you will be able to start a new 'lighter' project or just untwik in Preferences-->General(tab)-->"Automatically open last project on startup".
