Omoron is not woking properly

Same problem on my Omron HEM-711. Manufactured in 2003, past the 5-yr warranty. Cust Suppt told me to replace unit. I opened the unit up and looked inside. Two very tight phillips screws, one on back panel, other in battery compartment. Case pries apart. LCD display looked intact, ribbon was undamaged. Unit appeared to work properly, just did not display correct reading, some of the liquid crystals in a few of the digits were not activating. I installed batteries with case still open, turned power on while pressing ribbon along edge of circuit board. Ribbon is manufactured with glue to circuit board, some of the leads come loose after several years due to manufacturing defect. In my case, pressing towards the bottom side corrected problem. You can see when it's working properly because all the display crystals light up simultaneously when unit is first powered up. I clamped down ribbon with two small paper clips insulated with a few bits of paper, works fine now, saved eighty bucks.

It powers on but the screen does not turn on.never has worked since we bought it. called the teck service said that not possible so my buddy gave up on it.I put a new battery in it green lite comes on but...

Check the battery voltage. It should read around 12 volts. I have the same unit that did the same thing. The battery voltage was down to 6.5 volts. That was enough to power the LED but not enough to run the unit. Once I used a known good battery everything worked fine. Good luck!

Ds lite charges fine, but won't turn on! both fuses ok!

Hi. Same thing happened to one of my friend's own. Also, when I shook it, I could hear a slight rattle inside as if a small piece had broken off. I took it apart and found that a small surface mount inductor had come off (it was right by the on/off switch I believe). I was able to get it soldered back on and added some glue for mechanical strength (since my solder wasn't as good as original). This worked a while but it came off again and I could never get it to stick and function again. Just shorting the terminals with wire didn't work, it needs at least some 'L' impedance. So, I tried making my own. I took a very small wire-wrap wire I had from my old college days, and wound it around a paperclip about 10times, solder the ends on, and then removed the clip. (think of tiny spool of wire with each end connected to solder pads). Believe or not, it worked and has been fine ever since. Apparently the tolerance for this circuit is pretty loose. FWIW.

Good luck. A fun project either way before giving up.

Take care

Passlode 900420: Fan runs in limp mode or half speed when battery is in. But it will not spark with fan plugged in. Unplug the fan unit leave the spark plugged in, it sparks fine. Tested the wire...

you have a dead short in fan. did you have fan apart for cleaning unit? If so take back apart and check for bare wires grounding the fan. curcuit is not completed

Taylor 7532S, battery replaced, error message 0-Ld

Try to reset the unit. Use the following steps
- Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the scale. Push the tab on the door and lift the cover.
- Remove the battery from the compartment. Close the battery compartment door.
- Sit the scale right side up on a hard surface floor.
- Step on the scale and stand still on it for five to ten seconds. Step off the scale.
- Turn the scale over and open the battery compartment. Re-insert the battery. Close the battery compartment cover.
- Place the scale right side up on the hard surface floor.
- Press one foot on the scale until the display shows zeroes or dashes. Remove your foot.
- Wait for the scale to shut off by itself. When you step back onto the scale, it will be reset.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Brand new apc 900 ups and when plugged in it after a while will beep loudly & overload button will flash..

I bought an APC 900XS UPS for $10.00. at a garage sale. I know you’re going to tell me that you take a gamble at a garage sale whether it works or not.
Please do not try to fix the device unless you are qualified electronic technician. There is high voltage and high current that is very deadly.
Before plugging the UPS in I opened the battery compartment and found the positive lead off of the battery. Took the batteries out and measured the voltage on both batteries and I couldn’t believe it, they were both good. Well at least they measured the right voltage. There are two batteries, each one is 12vdc. The real test would be to put the batteries under a load.
I plugged it in and ran for about six hours than the "Overload" LED and alarm turned on. I didn't have anything plugged into it "AC". When I first plugged it in, in the beginning I noticed the fan was running by the sound of it. But later that evening about an hour after plugging it in the fan was off. Don’t know why unless there is a temperature monitoring circuit on that heat sink and the fan wasn’t needed? After opening the unit I found a component unsoldered at one end. It looks like a capacitor or a spark gap component across the AC line. I don’t think that’s original problem. Re-soldered the component back in place. Took the board completely out and unplugged all the connectors. Again, after talking the PCB out. I didn’t see anything damage / burned. Without a schematic diagram one really can’t troubleshoot. I did noticed that (small) fan was kind-a hard to move by hand. I applied an external 24 volts to the fan. It was almost drawing 0.120 amps. The fan is rated at 0.070 amps. Took the fan apart and applied Tri-Flow (oil) to both bearings. Now the current draw has lowered. I’m wondering if the PCB has a current monitor of the fan driver, if the fan is/or requiring too much current that the unit shuts down. That heat sink that the fan is on seems to not dissipate very much heat, if any. It seems the fan is an over kill. There is a temperatures sensor mounted to the heat sink, probably to monitor the temperature of the heat sink in case the fan stops. Temporally connected everything back together. Now it’s running fine, but time will tell whether it’s going to stay running. After running four hours without any alarms, I re-assembled the unit. It’s been two days and the fan is still running and without any alarms. I haven’t plugged the computer into it yet.

G4 ibook works off charger, but not battery. battery at 75%

Replace your battery.
When a battery is dead, the charge level it reports is meaningless. When a battery reports a charge but still won't keep your machine running for more than 30 seconds, it's dead.
The fact that the OS knows when the battery is present or absent doesn't mean anything, as it it just reading the presence of the battery interface board.
