Cold water works, hot does not

Just installed. Moen CA87006 side handle. Nothing is kinked. Hot and cold water hooked up. Hot water is available but when I turn the handle to HOT it slows to a trickle. Cold water works fine at full flow. Yes hot water is turned on. No installation problems are obvious. All parts were there. Curious at best.

The previous faucet, single handle also, had perfect pressure and hot water was fine. Location has good pressure when the faucet is not hooked up. Don't believe it is a pressure issue. I'm about 20 feet from the water heater.

Your problem can be fixed by running a loop in the plumbing. If you hired a professional in the first place it would already be done. basically the water pressure isn't enough, i bet your faucet is on the second or third floor, or even just THAT far from the water heater.

I have a moen posi-temp shower valve and it says "up" on 1 side. when it is installed this way the hot is on the wrong side. the hot is hooked to the left side but the handle points to the cold...

you need to pull apart the handle and rotate the cartridge 180 and reassemble and that will put the hot on the left and the cold on the right before you put the screws all back in test it to make sure its correct then reassemble IF THIS HELPED YOU PLEASE VOTE FOR ME AND LEAVE GOOD FEEDBACK

L have a moen kingsley t125 with a moen 9000 m pact the cold water handle comes out with a trickle only when you turn it on the hot water is find unit is about one year old

You have a obstruction in cold side turn off both cold and hot water to faucet then disassemble cold side(take note of how you take apart it must go back correctly) slowly open cold water stop to see if you can dislodge obstruction(use a towel over cold water handle assembly to keep from water shooting everywhere).

I've been given an old (10+ yrs) Moen shower control valve that I want to use (it does apparently have pressure balancing built-in), but don't know which side is hot and which is cold. Does Moen always...

Moen and all shower valve manufacturers follow american federal guidelines. Hold the unit in your hand with the handle facing you - the left side is the hot water inlet and the right side is the cold water inlet.

We are trying to find a re build kit to rebuild the faucet and switch the cartridge to have hot and cold on the proper side. Also how to rebuild the faucet when its fixed

You get the rebuild kit FREE from Moen, they will ship it to your door.
The hot and cold is a hook up issue and not resolved in the cartridge. Just switch the input hoses. Sometimes the faucet is actually installed 180 degrees out and causes the same condition. I presume that it worked okay, except the reversal of the water... so switch the hoses.

Hot side is cold cold side is hot

hello, this can happen if the shower body unit was installed incorrectly, the installer connected the hot to the cold side and cold to the hot side, what you can do might be a bit difficult but the water supply lines are reversed you need to open up the wall and attach the cold and hot lines to the right sides.. hope this helps

Moen Single Handle Shower Faucet-turn on get cold, little hot

You can try to rotate the first plastic ring to the left of center a few teeth, this will let the handle advance alittle more to the hot side.

I have a new moen single handle shower faucet that is only giving one temp of water (cold). Only if I have it on very slow will I feel hot water. Any idea how to fix

Did the hot water shut off get turned back on fully after the change? Is the hot water line kinked under the sink? Is the hot water shut off valve working?
