Cable Connections On Back of Dell 1503FP 15" LCD Monitor and Computer
D-sub(Blue colour) is the VGA cable , hence Dell 1503FP 15" LCD Monitor have VGA capability.
Sounds to me like there might be some bad capacitors on the power board. When they go bad the have a puffy silver top to them instead of the normal flattop on them.
If you can get inside of that monitor then look for capacitors that look puffy. If you find some then make sure you buy new ones of the same UF rating and at least the same voltage or higher. You will need soldering skills. You would need to unsolder the old ones and put the new ones back on with the striped side facing the striped side on the board.
That should resolve the problem of the power board. If you look at the power board and you don't find any bad capacitors then you'll need to get a new monitor cause the power boards for that monitor is not available.
Hello there.
Seems like electronics pack up but try an old one. disconnect all the data cables from your monitor side(HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA, USB etc.) or computer side if the ones on display are built-in. Leave only the power cable. Unplug the monitor`s power cable. Press the POWER button on the front of the display and keep it pressed for 45 secs. Plug everything back and give it a try.
Good luck.
I am angry with dell computers...however their monitors are without equal in my opinion. More settings on the dell monitor. Also i have had dell monitors going on eleven years and have not had one single problem. No I don't work for them LOL:)
try unplugging the monitor cable frm the back of the computer & make sure the monitor is connectd to a known good wall outlet.....chk if it shows any self test on the monitor......if it shows anything thn it is related to the port on the computer or the video card.....bt if it doesnt shw anything, u might hv to replace the monitor
Yes, The largest of the 2 boards in there. (left side of the monitor if you were looking at it from the fornt.)
If you can get a photo of it, it is possible it could be a different variation in your monitor. They tend to slap them together with whatever parts they have.
Put a flashlight up to it to see if you can see the screen working. The lights for the screen may not be working. Usually the inverter board or bulbs are burned out. You can light up the screen with a flashlight and see the "output" from the pc but it will be very hard to see.especially during the day.
