Re: my 51 inch Magnavox rear projection has red and green...
The coolant is bad inside the blue and green pix tubes-to verrify this you can remove the front edge of the screen(it pulls off-one edge at a time-take out screws to remove screen-after screen is off look down at blue/green tubes pix is bad or not there

Most likely this set has bad convergence ic's and some open resistors. This is a common problem for projection tv's.
Check:
resistors RK42, RK46,
RK50, RK54, RK58, RK62
Output STKs IK04, IK05.
I hope this helps. Thanks for using fixya.
Ur convergence it dead,Know how to solders? Can buy a convergence kit, replaced what in the kit.Tries websites.Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com.To repair ur self.Cost u about $300 to repair by the the shop.
Always start at the vary center of the screen with Green. Position Red over Green, then Blue over what now will look yellow. If all is perfect except the outside, you will need to adjust "Mid-Size" until the middle is just as far off as the outside lines. Then adjust the main "Size" adustments to match. Go very slow or you can make a mess of it.
You need to adjust screen drives on Red Green Blue tubes ,does all 3 of them light up? Focus/screen control box is in front of TV behind front panel Turn color off then adjust all 3 tubes to where you have a black and white looking picture, now turn color back on.
The are controls on the inside of the tv above the circuit boards for focus and to turn up intensity of the projector lamps (red, green, and blu). If you turn it up too far all three projector lamps kick off. If this happens, power off the set and turn down the lamp that you turned up. Power it back on and slowly turn the projector lamp up until the picture looks OK. You have to take off the panel on back of set to get to the controls.
You can turn up the Screen controls in back of set. Look for the focus block that has 6 controls on it. 3 are for the screen and 3 for the focus, in each color Red, Blue, Green. need to turn evenly to keep color balanced. On set turn color all the way down and then get a good black and white picture.
