Try to assign an IP address to the second computer like 192.168.0.101 Subnet 255.255.255.0 and Default gateway 192.168.0.1

Note: This one is an example of IP address, the IP address that you need to assign is in range to the router that you have or with in range to the modem.

Apple mobile device usb drivers has malfunctioned and exceed the power limits of its hub port.

Ewwwwwww... no fun.

You should try a "POWERED"

4 Port USB 3.0 Hub It's important that it's a "POWERED HUB" because you need the HUB to supply it's OWN power and not depend on your Apple E to provide power to your connected USB devices!

The good news is they don't cost much: $8 on eBay
Auction: 202096902632
Note that they include the power supply! Many other HUBS don't.

Your HUB is even LESS if you pick on the USB 2.0. Version, AND YES, each HUB MUST have it's own power supply and that's just what YOU need.

The ONE thing I didn't like about this HUB is the LED lights that are provided for each port! They are TOO bright so I opened it up and plucked all but one LED out. I also bought the 8 and 10 Port HUB versions and 'fixed' them too.

I also didn't need the switches to confuse things (accidentally turn one or more ports OFF)... so my trusty hot glue gun fixed that! All are constant ON now.

I PLUGGED MY MP3 PLAYER INTO MY LAPTOP USB PORT AND IT USED TO WORK NOW IT SAID THE USB DEVICE HAS EXCEEDED ITS POWER LIMITS OF ITS HUB PORT AND WONT WORK NOW

If you get an error message"Insufficient power to operate USB device" when you plug a USB deviceinto the computer's USB port, then this device is drawing excessive currentthat the USB port cannot supply. The maximum output from an USB port is 500mA. In case such as this, youneed to purchased a powered USB hub and connect this hub into the computer'sUSB port and then connect the USB device into this powered USB hub.

Power surge on hub port a usb device has exceeded the power limits of its hub port there is nothing connected to my computer

I don't know how old your system might be or how many USB controllers it has on the motherboard, but understand this...

Theoretically, one USB port can support up to 999 "daisy chained" devices.

With that said...the way a USB port is implemented on a motherboard, manufacturers enable two or four ports to be working off of one USB interface. Those ports you see on the front of your computer are most likely connected to just one USB interface on the actual motherboard and that's why you always see computers with USB ports located together in pairs.

With that in mind, you're USB ports are connected to what is referred to as a "hub"(that motherboard interface), which only outputs so much power. If one device or many devices attached to this "hub" exceed the power output of this "hub" then it will either back down to USB 1.1 speeds or it won't function at all. That is why some USB accessories require their own wall adapter, because the USB can't supply all the necessary power for it.

So one of two things has happened, either your USB port is fried or you introduced a new USB item to the "hub" that surpasses the power requirements of what your USB hub can output once you plug in your mp3 player.

You can troubleshoot by unplugging all un-necessary USB equipment and try only that port again. My assumption is that the USB hub is fine but the actual usb port you use might be damaged.

Good luck.
