I am trying to install DIR 600 wireless router on my mac.

I am trying to install DIR 600 on my mac. it does not auto run. how do i get it to install? I am able to pull up the directions but they seem to be more directed for a pc.

You dont need to install the driver. All you have to do is to connect it first into your mac computer via wired connection and access the IP Address of the router thru your safari. Then from there you can now setup the router page configuration.

I cant access the router page 192.168.0.1 for some reason it doesn't load. When i set it up the first time i was able to get to it and configure it then but now im trying to set it up again and i cant get to that page

There are ways to configure router:
1. Is by using Installer using a CD came with it or
2. Access routers Graphical User Interface (GUI) through Internet browser. Just type in on the address bar the IP address of your router. For dlink it has a default IP of 192.168.1.0.

Note:
Before accessing router configuration make sure that the yellow cord (ethernet cable) is connected directly from the router to your computer.

How to change the channel on my dir-600
Hi Felix,

Try these steps and let me know if it works.

Step 1 : Type http://192.168.0.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 2 : Login to the router setup by typing the default password admin

Step 3 : Click wireless settings on the left side.

Step 4 : Click Manual Wireless Network Setup

Step 5 : Under Wireless network Settings Uncheck the option Enable Auto Channel Scan

Step 6 : Select the wireless channel you need

Step 7 : Click Save Settings.

I have installed a d-link dir-600 wireless router
Sometimes the modem doesn't connect if the MAC address of the connected device isn't the same as the one used when service was first set up. Connect that computer to the router, then go through the setup screens until you find the option to "clone MAC address". This copies your computer's MAC address into the router so that the modem sees the right value again. Once that's done, the modem should connect properly and the router will be able to do its job.

Please help.... I have just purchased a dlink dir-600 wireless router and I can not connect to 192.168.0.1 from my mac.
For setup, you need an Ethernet cable connection to the router, WLAN needs to be configured first before you can use it to administrate the router.

The default user name is "admin" with empty password.
If you suspect the settings are not at factory defaults, press the reset button at the rear for 20 seconds with the router powered on.

Try to configure the DIR-625 wireless router. Connect your computer to one of the LAN port to one of the router. Then access the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1) configure as dynamic IP then clone the MAC address. Make sure that you modem is connected to Internet port section of the router. Check the Internet connection after the configuration leave the other behind check the connection of the main router before installing the other one.

DIR-655 wireless intermittment - connections drop -
Any one with a mac ... MAKE SURE "Enable Auto Channel Scan : " is OFF.

CHANGE the name of the WIFI Network.

SET the Channel to CH11 [Others interfere with phone signals]

SET Security to WPA, TKIP Cypher, 3600. Then enter your password [min 8 all lowercase chrs] Change it when you are working.

Save and unplug the router and you will be fine.
