Question about KDS K226WDB Monitor
I have a similar problem. When powered on, the screen is mostly white, with the picture slightly visible around the edges. Over the course of a second or two, the white grows to fill in the entire screen. I just tore this thing apart and I see that the power inverter (i think?) is blackened on the top (tan) side. Part is: Mirage Electronics Co., PI-190DTLB REV:A. Currently trying to find one on to replace it now. All caps appear intact, so I'm assuming I need to replace the entire board.
There are some brands of caps that will blown with no visible damage, also some will blown out the bottom so you can't see the damage. I would replace the caps in the power supply all except for the 1 very big cap on the input side. I would be that this fixes the problem you are having.

Yes, this is a cap problem. Same monitor, white screen. Take apart, can snap front off after screws on bottom. You will see top buldging caps on the power supply board. Replace and all will be fine. Just did this. ort11
