How can I change the housing of my Sony Ericsson W300i phone without wrecking the wiring? Is this too difficult for me to do myself?
The housing is difficult to do. You have to be careful to not rip the flex cable that connects the two pieces. Once you remove the orange button on the side you will see a blue circular type pin. You must push that in all the way while gradually pulling your phone apart. Also at the same time you want to watch to make sure the flex cable don't snag itself of the folding parts. It slides in one way and you must be careful to not rip it. It is kind of in an S shape and slides in very delicately. once you get this part then the rest is easy to do. I hope this helps some and good luck. And yes I do repair these and replace all the parts on these phones so I know how difficult it can be for the first time. Hello I have just removed the flex cable from w300 after following your instructions thanks, but looking at the flex cable the camera is attached but the replacement in picture on ebay dont look like it has camera attached.
Do you have to remove it from the old flex and fit it on the new flex
