Sony LCD Projection M#KDFE55A20 Over the past couple of weeks the color on our TV went from "normal" to what seems to be green and yellow tinged. Red colors appear brown or black. The color went back to "normal" for a day and now it's back to greenish. It also appears the picture is a little darker. We had Best Buy come out and replace the lamp 1 1/2 years ago. What could be the problem?

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Here are more details and solutions for both. Repair kits with instructions are also avail from www.TvRepairKits.com
Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.
This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.
Common Symptoms include....
Screen looks 3D
Colors don't line up
One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
Screen is bowed or warped.
TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.
ok,,your problem is not on the lamp itself.,the problem is on your screen controller.the controller is connected on the plyback you can adjust the screen intensity of the red, green, blue cathode..on your screen adjustment.
check the cable connections. look at different inputs. VGA and Component cables have the colors split, so if it's turning red, green, or blue; it's likely a cable or connector.
Please check convergence out chips on D board of TV that seems defective and causing problem. Let me know exact model number of TV to provide you more info.

sounds like the LCD screen viewfinder may have been twisted or accidentally catched or got hooked or snagged on on something at one stage and pulled something, if the screen went yellow it means the three wires going to it are possibly broken or the small white clip was slowly coming undone inside the Viewfinder for the red and green to no longer work to complete the image also indicates why the buttons on the viewfinder are not responding, try twisting the viewfinder very lightly whilst on, but most likely the small white clip holding the wires has come off at the elbow inside the camera
I have the same TV and the same problem, I take out the block of colours red, green and blue (the blue colour is broken) and I went to the electronic supplies for ask the price and they don't sell just the little blue mirror (blue pixel), they sell all block for $2,050.00 dollars. It's the price for a new one
