Question about GE GSH22JFR Side by Side Refrigerator

My 15 year old ge profile refrigerator door handles are worn to the under material. I want to paint the refrigerator and change the handle color to stainless and black. Do you have such a thing? Model # 203C3669P011

Make sure you use appliance black paint. But before you remove and paint the handles, compare the color for color match- not all black are exactly the same. Color can differ with brands.

Know its a year later, but I have the manual, and will look through it if still interested. Just wondering why you would be replacing the handles? I have this refrgerator and it has held up well and really have no problems or complaints,...except for those darn handles! They work perfectly, but the white began to slowly wear off soon after I bought it,...revealing an unsightly beige rubber color. I've even resorted to spray painting the handles,...a very time consuming process, just taping all around them. It would last and look good for a few months,...but then it was back to that beige, rubbery worn off look again. Would love to swap out the handles for some new ones,...just wondering if you are or were having the same complaint with this model's handles

The white plastic(?) full length door handles OUTSIDE the refrig are turning yellow on my white, side by side refrig. What can I purchase or use to re-whiten them and make them look clean and white again?

That yellow coloring is most likely a result of the white paint coming off, and the yellow plastic color showing underneath. Other than painting them with a good paint, which you would have to ask a paint expert for the proper type, my suggestion is to replace the handles altogether.

What causes the discoloration of the freezer & refrigerator handles? Is there anything that can bring them back to the original color? Mine were bisque & are about 10 years old. Thanks Fixya!

we all get a bit discolered after 10 years.bottom line the paint sort of gets thin and worn.cheer up take them off or mask-tape them and with a little very fine sandpaper give them a little rub and repaint them to match your new and very expensive kitchen.adrian,,,,

You cant find a hole to insert screw from outside. It is true, and you can't fix it yourself to what it looked like earlier. The company first screws in through the handle and then covers the hole made by it with the material of the handle. If you have to fix it yourself, you can only pierce those screws through the handle leaving the mark behind. If you don't want that, contact your company or dealer.

The door handle on the freezer of my GE Profile Bottom Freezer Refrigerator came off.

Hi, Please get me the model # from the label inside the refrigerator and I will look this up for you. Most handles have a set screw that tightens down.

Hi,

Spray with clorox all purpose cleaner and scrub it with hot or warm damp wash cloth.If the handles are plastic, Krylon makes an excellent line of spray paint products that bonds to plastic and adheres to the surface. Most spray paint products only coat the plastic and on a surface like a handle that will be used constantly, is easily scratched or peeled. The Krylon plastic paint bonds to the plastic surface and is very durable. The one down side is if you paint the handles and don't like the results, there is no going backwards, you can't remove the paint once it has cured.

GE French Door handle loose

To tighten the screw the first step is to remove the handle. With this model just pull straight up on the handle. It can take a little force but after it finally unclips it moves up an inch or two then pulls straight out. Good luck!

any paint you use will wear off and any chrome paint you use will wear off also
GE spares may still have the items as spare parts so call them
