My blender would do that if I didn't screw the jar on firmly enough. Sometimes the action of the blades will even loosen the bottom from the jar during blending, so I always hold the jar handle while the blending is going on. That way if it starts to undo, I can twist it back tight. Before I learned that trick I had smoothies leaking out the bottom - what a mess! Also make sure you put the gasket/seal on in the right order. If it's in the wrong place it won't seal correctly.

Hi c_e_ball, thanks for your reply to my blender problem. I bought this blender off someone, and didn't know it had a leaking proble. I am wondering if I am missing a piece that goes onto the bottom. What does the gasket look like. I have the blade bottom, then a rubber round peice that sits on that, maybe that's the gasket, then the blender jar. Do I have all the right peices? The person who had it before me tried syliconing it all off, so I have quite a mess to peel off. I am going to try to fit it together and see if I can get it to stop leaking. Thanks again for your reply.
