Sound Card Problem for Sigma Tel C-Major Card in Dell D600

My recording won't select both microphone and stereo mix at the same time? Is it half-duplex and full-duplex problem? I need both active to record my voice with music....I have a software which even let me switch between both but sigmatel doesn't recognize that. Please help.

I have exactly the same problem on my Dell Vostro 1400 with Windows XP SP 2.. I updated to the latest SigmTel drivers so that Stereo Mix works perfectly.. but the Microphone will be auto disabled.. When I select the microphone the StereoMix is disabled.. Is there any way I can select both of them together..?

Why cant i hear anything when i recored a video

1. Maybe your sound is off...
2. Bad speakers?
3. If you recorded, do you have a microphone?
4. Check your sound. Right click the sound icon in your taskbar and select recording devices. See if stereo mix is your default. What stereo mix does is record sound from your computer, not your microphone. Instead, set your microphone as the default recording device and try recording again.
5. If you are still clueless, and this is not working, you might have software issues, and need help from your OS provider.

How do I find out what specs my sound card has? have a Dell lattitude 6400 and am considering buying software which requires Creative Labs Sound Blaster 16 or equivalent sound card supporting 16-bit...

Your laptop has a High Definition integrated sound card which will do just fine for low-to mid end recording. You'll just need to hook up your audio source to the Microphone input on your laptop using a standard DIN plug, just like the one used for headphones. Usually the plug is a stereo input so you can have full stereo recording using the Microphone input.

I bought a new microphone and attached it to a dell laptop...which has sigmal tel c on it...i cant get my microphone to work

make sure it is fully inserted into the correct port.

go to the systray, next to the time,
right click the sound icon,
left click the "recording devices",
you should see your device here.
right click on your device and click "default".
that should work providing you dont have an onboard mic array

Anyone know how to enable a microphone on Dell

I would try going to Start, Accessories, Entertainment, and opening the Sound Recorder. Try doing a test record and see if it moves, or plays back what you record. If not, click on Edit at the top of the sound recorder, and go down to audio properties. You should see a sound recording section in the middle. Click volume, make sure microphone is selected, and the volume is up. If this doesn't fix it, try reloading your audio driver for your model of computer. You can download dell drivers from support.dell.com

Internal microphone not working

I have Dell Inspiron 1520 and I have issue to built in microphone is not working. I tried to execute the Sigma Tel driver from Dell Driver and Support website but prompted 'Exit Error; Error : Device Object not present, Restart system and run setup. Then, asked Dell support to help and they are not really helpful, after System Restore and drivers upload and finally asked to reformat the laptop........

Anyway, this is what works for me.

1) Download the Sigma Tel driver from Dell Support Drivers page and save it in Desktop
2) Shutdown your computer
3) Start your computer and press F8 at the Dell Logo page
4) Select Safe Mode (not others)
5) Proceed to work on Safe Mode
6) Right-click the Sound icon and activate the Sound icon
7) Select Recording device.
8) If still not working, then execute the Sigma Tel driver that saved in desktop

then, shutdown the computer and start as normal, you may see the system able to detect the built in Microphone then.

Hope it will work the same for you too..!!

I inadvertently deleted the Line-In Realtek High Definition Audio

Simply re-install the software and all your original data will be restored. If you purchased a downloaded version, go to the site from which your purchased it and request your keycode again, and permission to re-download. Then burn the text file with the keycode and the downloaded installer onto a CD so you won't lose it again. Another solution is to get Nero.
