How to preserve battery charge by preventing your Palm handheld from accidentally turning on via keylock
Your Palm handheld is equipped with the Keylock Activation feature to

To access the Keylock Activation settings, follow these steps:

Definitely something to address with Audible
Digital Rights Management of Audible files is controlled and managed by Audible. In general the way these schemes work is to write some kind of key or token file to your handheld when you first setup your Audble account. Unless the keyfile is present, the player will give you the response you mentioned. With Audible, you can move the authorization from one device to another by deactivating one device and activating another.
In your case, you seem to have deactivated your Zire 31 somehow. I suspect that you may have put a new user on the Zire 31 and therefore the DRM keyfile is no longer part of your files on the Zire. It would be associated with the old username and no longer on your handheld.
I suspect what you have to do is re-authorize your Zire 31 using the Audible Manager on the PC.
