Hello maribeautybu,

You can Open Task manager-CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill the explorer.exe process. This will cause your desktop to go blank. Then do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and run Task Manager then new task - type in explorer.exe.

On starting up my d800 dell, all i see is a blank page with only the mouse cursor,i have use ait, ctr, del, to enter task manager,i cant find explorer.exe in the processes, It all started after i install...

Click Ctrl+Alt+Delto get to Task Manager. Hold the Ctrl key, plus Hold the Alt Key then hitthe Del key while holding them.Once the task manager opens Clcik the Processes tab then click the Image NameColumn heading on the left to get them in alphabetical order. Scroll downand look for explorer.exe. If you see it click it to highlight it thenclick End Process.

Next, click the FILE tab at the very top left of the window and select New Task(RUN). When the Create New Task window opens type explorer.exe and pressok. Your start menu, task bar and desktop icons will start appearing andpopulating. if not that means a virus has hidden your files and folders.

Blank screen

A white blank screen? That sounds like the virus changed your display settings. Click Ctrl+Alt+Del to get to the task manager. Press and hold the Ctrl key plus the Alt Key then hit the Del key. When the task manager opens up Click File at the upper left corner of the window then select New Task RUN. When the create New Task Window opens type: explorer.exe and hit OK. See if it starts populating your desktop icons and shows the start menu and task bar. If so, the virus changed your settings.

To change your display background click Start/Control Panel and look for Display or Appearance and Personalization. When it opens select the Desktop tab and change the desktop background. Hopefully the white will go away.

You may have to get into Safe Mode to do the above if the virus disabled the Task Manager.

After the password the screen becomes dark.

Hi,
I suspect that a virus has infected your computer. Try the following steps to solve the problem. a friend of mine once had the same problem and this is how I fixed it for him:
- When you login and the screen goes blank press CTRL,ALT & DEL at the same time and go to start task manager - After that go to file, new task and type in explorer.exe and wait for explorer to load. - Go online and download Norton Antivirus 2011. I recommend the one that you pay for as it is more secure. - Scan your computer and remove the viruses
Good Luck

Black Screen when playing 3D games on ATI Radeon 9550 X1050 Serie

the game resolution is not supported by your monitor....this is the reason your screen goes blank....
by the next time if the screen goes blank, press alt+ctrl+del together and check are you able to see the task manager....
if you can see the task manager, then close the game from that window by selecting end task....
if you cant see the task manager, then press ctrl+alt+del together 2 times and check....
if nothing works, then try by checking with any HD monitors if available with you or with your friends...
