Antenna :
-should be tuned, have good coax with no pinches, whip is centered over highest flat metal surface, no metal beside adjacent to whip, power is wired to battery direct, not to ignition or cigg lighter. whip is wiped clean of corrosion, whip is up, longer is better.
Praire City car-to-car: 15-20 km's
Praire Rural car-to-car: four-thirds over the horizon. Probably 60 km's.
Alot further over water.
Less within trees and mountains/valleys.
Google "Ham radio" & "ducting" "inversion" "skip" "sun-spots"
these refer to a condition where a radio signal getting stuck between the upper and lower atmospheres and travel intact for 1000's of km's (canada to mexico for example)

Need the wiring for mic on trc 502

My understanding of the TRC-502 is that it is 49 MHZ not CB. With that said I cant find
a microphone diagram for that specific radio. I found a 503 but that is a CB. I couldnt find a
wiring diagram for either radio. You could always call Radio Shack or The Shack, contact them online or call and ask for the info.

Como puedo subirle lapotencia y la modulacion a mi radioshack trc 447,cual tornillo debo mover?

There is a mod for the TRC-447. The AMC sensor is Q205 and I never really recommen cutting anything related to the AMC but this radio is the aception to the rule. I posted a picture for you. The red marking is Q205. Follow these instructions carefully and you should have a much louder CB. Q205 has three legs. One on one side and two on the other side. You need to cut the soldier leg on the side with two legs. This will be the leg closets to the bottom of the diagram I posted. Use a razor and and perhaps a magnifying glass and be very steady. You want to make a complete cut until you see nothing but the circuit board. You may have to make more than one pass. It is very important you only cut the bottom leg. When your done with that turn the radio over and spred L205 and L203 with a plastic screwdriver. Spread them evenly and make sure they don't touch anything when you are done. ironfist109_11.jpg

I need a mic for my TRC-447 where can I find one? they no longer carry it at radioshack.

You have not specified which country, state or county you are in so we cant even suggest a shop in your country. Find a local CB dealer and take the radio there, they will be able to wire up a microphone for the radio.

Try this manual, it may or may not be the correct one, but it will be close enough to help you.

Tunning the antenna on radio shack cb trc-447

After installing the antenna, follow these steps to adjust the
standing wave ratio(SWR).
1. Turn on the CB.
2. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to CAL.
3. Key the Mic and rotate SWR CAL so the meter points
to CAL.
4. Unkey Mic.
5. Set S/RF/SWR/CAL to SWR.
6. Key Mic again and note the actual measurement on
the SWR scale. Refer to the following table to interpret
the reading.

1:1 - 1.5 Great
1.5 - 2:1 OK
2:1 - 3:1 Not So Good
Higher than 3.1:1 Terrible

The ideal standing wave ratio (SWR) is 1:1, or a meter
reading of 1 on the SWR meter's top scale. A SWR ratio
of 1.5:1 to 2:1 is excellent for most mobile CB antenna
applications.

Check the SWR on Channel 1 and Channel 40
If the SWR is higher on 1, make the antenna longer
If the SWR is higher on 40, make the antenna shorter
Most antenna's are adjustable. Make small adjustments at a time.
