Tv has 3 light,blue,green are ok red is out would this be lamp which looks to be one piece like capacitor etc.possible to replace myself if its just to remove/unplug n if not what price range for part n repair. TBERNARD
Sounds like you have a bad screen asy,this is located under the plastic were the tubes come up thru the plastic,its in the right top corner and has 6 turn controls on it,part number is 204809,this part must be generic,the part has been discontinued by Thomson.

The blue is usually dimmer than the other two lens; what I would suggest is try to look into the lens with the set on; BE CAREFUL AND NOT TOUCH ANYTHING INSIDE THE SET.
If the red and green show a picture but the blue looks like a floodlight you have bad Glycol in the blue tube (common in these sets).
If all have a normal picture remember to wipe the lens clean at the top; do not try to take the lens etc apart.

It could be the temp sensor going bad. This sensor sits on top of the
metal housing which the bulb assembly slides into. The bulb assembly
will have a hole on top and this is where the sensor is above. There is a
small blue and white wire that plugs into it. If you pull the wire out
and put a paper clip or wire in the coupling you will basically bypass
the sensor connecting the blue and white wire. If your tv turns on then
that is your problem. Its cheap too. Here were my symptoms..1] Turn tv
on 2] Bulb would light up..(which eliminates the ballast) regular
picture would show up (which eliminates the bulb and color wheel) 3] 30
seconds later tv would shut down with 3 flashing lights. After bypass
the tv turned on as always and hasnt shut down yet. Always un plug tv
first. Get the replacement part to avoid overheating and possible fire
ok,,your problem is not on the lamp itself.,the problem is on your screen controller.the controller is connected on the plyback you can adjust the screen intensity of the red,green,blue cathode..on your screen adjustment.
You do not have Lamp in this set it is Projection has 3 Tube Red,Green,Blue. On power/deflection board CK capacitor cp150 2200uf 16v look to see if capacitor is puffed up on top if so replace it and 2 other caps in same circuit 220uf 35v they are green with gold writing on them also CK second ribbon connector make sure it is pluged in good.
