Tried this? 1.Push the hold switch towards the headphone jack so you see orange
2.Press and hold record on the left of the player
3.With record still being held down, plug into the computer
4.Once you see welcome to recovery mode on the screen of the player, let go of record
At this point you can reload the manual firmware by copying the firmware files to the detected removable disk.
Firmwares- Version 1 Version 2
Download the correct version or else it will render your device useless.Version can be found on the back plate at botton right.. Extract the downloaded file and transfer the contents to removable disk detected. After transferring, disconnect the player and let it upgrade the firmware

There is a trick to charging the battery in these small mp3 players. It wont charge if it is turned on, and it won't charges if it's turned off. Here what to do...
1. plug the payer into your USB port. or wall charger
2. switch thje palyer on using the mechanical switch (on the side)
3. turn it off by either holding down the play button, or selecting "System" from the menu
4. The screen will go black and the battery will begin charging.

My mp3 sansa won't turn on or charge.

If it freezes up, wont charge or just wont turn on... slide the power button up for 15-20 seconds then turn it on. That should work everytime. good luck

My MP3 won't turn on...

Your unit might be in sleeping/powersaving mode. However, if that is not the case:

look for a slide switch on the mp3 for power instead of pressing the play/pause button.

when you charge the mp3 while the slide switch/button is turned off, it will still be turned on but it wont charge the battery

So, check that the power switch is on the "on".. then plug it into the charger

If you see that a sleeping mode symbol, waiting 1-3 hours then try if it works again.

Hope this helps. Please rate ^_^

Most Sansa brand MP3 players will power on by pressing the Play button. Be sure that the player is not locked and the battery is fresh/charged.
