Canon multipass f80 waste ink tank

First off to do it will take you about an hour, cost you between 10 to 30 dollars. The best alternative is either take it to a Canon Dealer and pay 40.00 and don't worry if you break the seal, or I will tell you how to reset it so that it thinks it has no ink. DO NOT PLAY WITH THE OTHER SETTINGS OR YOUR PRINTER MAY NOT WORK AFTERWARDS.

This works on the F30, F60, and F80.

Help! My Printer wont work

I had a similar problem with a Multipass F30 - check that the Canon Service "mpservice" is running. In the situation I had it was set to automatic, but the service was stopped. You can locate the Services by going to the Control Panel, then Performance1.gif & Maintenance if you are using catagory view or directly to Administrative Tools if in Classic View. Double click on Administrative Tools and then open Services. Scroll down and locate mpservice to see if it is running. I hope this helps.
It may also be worth removing and reinstalling the software - I was able to find an updated copy of the Canon software online and that helped get the printer working again.

Alarm light on. F80

This worked for me on an F60 and someone else on an F30. Re: Check Printer error message on Canon MultiPass by watsonk (6/7/05 11:16 PM) reply + / - It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter. I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 as well. Try: Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter 1) Enter SERVICE MODE.--- By pressing Menu-Copy-# 2) Select TEST MODE. 3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE. 4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR]. 5) Select 0. [INK COUNT]. 6) Press the [OK] key. 7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key. Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 printers.
