On line diagram of frig and concluded that it was the upper fan (motor) in the freezer. Air was not being transferred to the bottom portion of the frig.

Amanna fridge 4 years old, freezer on bottom works but fridge is not cooling

There are a few things you can attempt to troubleshoot the problem if your Amana refrigerator's freezer is functioning but the fridge compartment is not cooling:

Make sure the fridge's temperature settings are set to an appropriate level of chilling by checking the settings.
The refrigerator should be kept at a temperature of 37-40°F (3-4°C).
The refrigerator may not adequately chill if the temperature is set too high.

Inspect the ventilation: Make sure that the vents inside the fridge are not clogged by food or other items, as this might hinder the airflow and prevent effective cooling.
Moreover, make sure the fridge's door is properly sealing and that nothing is getting in the way of it closing all the way.

Condenser coil cleaning: The condenser coils on the rear or bottom of the refrigerator can accumulate dirt and debris over time, which can affect the cooling effectiveness.
Condenser coil cleaning might aid in regaining proper cooling.

Inspect the evaporator fan: The evaporator fan is responsible for moving cold air from the freezer to the fridge.
The refrigerator may not adequately cool if the fan is not functioning.
You might try listening for the sound of the fan running when the fridge is operational or glance inside the freezer section to see if the fan is running.
The fan might need to be changed if it is not operating.

If these troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a repair technician to further diagnose and fix the problem.

The fridge side of my ge reg is not working

The first thing you want to do is check the freezer side to see if you can hear the fan running. This fan circulates air from the freezer over to the fresh food side to cool it. If its not running then your fan is bad, but if it is then look at the freezer wall to see if you see a frost build up. If so your problem is one or more parts of the defrost system is malfunctioned and in return your problem arises. There are three parts to the system, the defrost timer or in some cases control board, defrost thermostat also known as a bi-metal, and the defrost heater. The defrost system is set up to operate as so. The defrost timer or control board will turn the machine off, in some cases every 8 hours, some 12. During this time period the defrost heaters, located behind the freezer wall and rest underneath the evaporator, yet wires to them run up the side of it, are energized and emit heat that raises upward to melt the ice that has formed on the evaporator coils. The bi-metal or defrost thermostat is at the top of the evaporator. When the heat from the heater starts to reach the bi-metal, it breaks the circuit turning the heater off. The whole purpose of this is because the freezer cool the refridgerator side by drawing air across the coils and blowing to the other side via the evap fan motor. In my opinion, if you change one part of the defrost system change them all because usually when one part fails another will follow, so save yourself the time and the food loss, the cost difference is minute.

Both Freezer & Fridge compartments not cooling

clean the coil behind the fridge or under the fridge (where ever they are) and make sure both fans are running, the one in the freezer and the one underneath. If that don't work you may be low on freon change fan motor

MSD2756GEB (Side By Side) Runs All the time

I went to the Maytag site and found a similar QA area and found a short article that talked about frost build up and/or blockage of any sort preventing airflow from the freezer compartment to the refrigerator compartment. They said this would impact proper operation of the refrigerator.

I emptied out the freezer after I inspected and found significant frost/ice in the upper right hand corner around the "scoop" that directs airflow into the refrigerator compartment. I took that off and removed all the ice build up (almost 1/2 blockage). I then removed the entire back panel and noticed that my refrigeration unit was completely iced up with significant build up around all the wires and thermostat.

I defrosted the entire unit with the aid of a hairdryer (at a safe distance so not to over heat anything) and then made sure my evaporator coils were all clean in the back and turned the refrigerator back on. (I unplugged it during the defrost operation.) I made sure that the fans worked both above the interior refrigeration unit and at the evaporator unit. Then I waited for the compressor to kick on.

Wallah! Everything so far was working so I put the rear panel back together in the freezer section, closed her up and waited to see what would happen. So far I've had to turn down the refrigerator section to around 5 and the freezer to about 4. The unit now seems to run correctly, shutting off after it runs for a while.

So I guess I'll wait and see how long this defrosting step works. Maybe the self defrost switch or something is not working and the problem will return in a month or so. We'll see..............

Kenmore 253.717941OC Top Freezer - freezer okday, frigerator inop

The missing fan noise is the clue; the fan that is responsible for circulating air between the two chambers has failed. Both may have cooling coils but a fan is responsible for balancing the temperature between the two and is even more important if the coils are exclusively located in the freezer chamber.
Unless it is still under warranty, it isn't necessary to wait on Sears service since they are independent contractors anyhow.
If you are in the US, check your local Better Business Bureau website to find a reliable service company. I'd bet you can find one much earlier than next month.

My frigerator

This will get warm. If very hot check and clean coils in front, underneath. Also check fan behind rear panel. It should be turning when the unit is running. Also check for door not closing properly.
