The green wire is usually pushed on to a connection on the back of the machine. It should not cause your problem. Is the water heater working, if not the machine may be waiting for the water to get to the set temperature. If the machine has a temperature control knob turn it POWs to 0 and see if machine starts
If this machine is new or old sometimes wash items get out of the basin and clog up the pump. This may not be the problem in your case. Let's look at the pump. Is the belt tight? Sometimes you can see into the pump ,is there something visible in the pump preventing it from turning? Is the belt worn to the point that can't turn the pump pulley? With belt off pulley ,can the pulley be turned by hand one way or the other, I mean is it seized?Check these suggestions, and get back to me with how you made out. GOOD LUCK.
If your washer is not spinning ! You first need to drain it. Then underneath your washer you will find your drive system. It will consist of drive belt, drive pulley or pullies and motor. Belt could have come off , if so check the condition before reinstalling, also some times from overloading the belt will spin on the pulley which will make it hot and thanks to the manufacturer the pulley is likely plastic. Parts supply shops best source for belts and possibly pulley though sometimes they want to sale you the whole motor with pulley which you don't need. If so uae internet to find your pulley probably under 10.00 dollars. Hope this helps.
1. Clogged drain line or water pump Check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine).
2. Water Pump If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Note: if you have a belt driven washer, check the belt(s) for cracks, as this would be a perfect time to replace the belt(s) if needed.
