I own a toshiba 50" plasma less than 3 yrs old and 2 pink lines have appeared to the left center of the screen. Warranty is up. What is the problem?
Hi,
the ribbon cables connected to the plasma display have built in chip technology. If one of the cables is bad, it may caun se the line.
Lines can also be caused by a faulty buffer board or faulty sustain board.
Less common, but still possible a faulty plasma display.
Regards.
The screen has failed. It has about 14 ribbons running along the bottom edge that connect the Boards to the screen, it is glued to the glass and not replaceable. One of the 1000 or so contacts have failed.
It is not good news though at all, screens are shockingly expensive.
Sorry.
