53 inch projection tv

My tv has a yellow tint on it it is a 60 inch hitachi.

This problems is known as a convergence problems,it dead.The R,G,B colors lines mis alignment,have colors shadows or picture look like 3D pictures.The tv convergence board,it dead.Require,must be changes 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors to solved tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

I had similar symptoms about a year ago. Also came on sudden. The red convergence chip had burned out (poor heat sinking on this model Hitachi). Replacing the color convergence chips fixed it. ($50 for parts.) First, however, have you tried the "magic focus" function? That's explained in the manual, which is available online IIRC, but I'd have to look for the link if you need it.

For CRT projection TV's, this indicates that the Green picture tube is burned (warn out). The less green that strikes the screen, the more redish the image will look. You will need to find an old school TV repair shop that knows how to replace picture tubes.
In the case of a DLP style TV, the color wheel needs replacing.

Hi. there is a malfunction that has occurred within the convergence chip that is located on the PC board(demod). this is a Hybrid chip that controls the calibrations of the RGB streams. If this chip becomes unstable, it will not allow proper calibrations.

Replacing this failed chip will fix this issue.

The actual sony chip is not available at this time but, there is a compatible chip that will work with your set. i will post a link to the affected part below.

2. if this will not fix problem
3. then you have a convergence problem
4. You will need the Converg. Kit

maybe you have defective convergence correction circuit! replace a new one!
