C1 Fault Recently wife washed bathroom floor rugs in whirlpool Calypso washer and it locked down the drain pump. Was able to unclog the pump to get by another week until it failed. Replaced pump and now the fault C1 is appearing roughly after 2 minutes into any cycle. Pump drains fine with low amperage but fault keeps appearing. What is the steps in the operations so that I can better isolate problem, or is there a historyof this on Calypsos.
Have tried to wash bathroom throw rugs twice. Both times have had to have the pump replaced.Have tried to wash bathroom throw rugs twice. Both times have had to have the pump replaced.

Code CL.(C1) This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector, or motor controller. Over-loading the unit may cause this problem. Calypo washers do have a history of break downs within the drive system.

On Whirlpool Calypso washers that is probably not a "1" but is the letter i. The code "CI" is the fault code that indicates "Instantaneous Current Limit". Instantaneous current trip occurs if there is a spike of 26 amps instantly at the motor windings.
This may signify problems with the drive motor, thermal protector (fuse), or motor controller. Overloading the washer may cause this condition. Press stop/cancel to clear the display. Hope this helped you.
Your pump is clogged , It is a very bad Idea to put rugs in that machine either to fibers or the backing on the rug gets stuck. I hope you know someone handy. take out as much water as you can from the top with a cup or something. You are going to have to go under the bottom of the machine remove the 3 screws on the bottom plate. the pump is on the right you have to disconnect the black and the yellow hose very slowly there is a lot of water that you can't see from the top . then take down the pump and clean it out . Good luck remember no rugs.
the hose may still be filled from last cycle.
try to put machine in final spin mode where all water from previous wash will be spun out the drain hose. once a siphon is started it can only be stopped by introducing air into the drain hose.
You probably have something trapped under the large washplate inside the drum. I'm going through the same issue right now with the wife's dis-integrated bathroom rug.
It sound like you have a blocked pump.
Remove the pump from the machine and check where do you have this clogged, inside the pump or in one of the pipes connected to it.
Good luck!
