It is just like any other disc drive. You can set up folders to store your music. You can store music, files, videos, whatever you'd like.
It should be assigned a drive letter like d: e: or f: You can simply copy your music files to it.

Be more specific as to to how you are trying to use the Simpletech drive to store music.

Only you can help yourself. Read the directions that came with it, or go into your local Best Buy and have the Geek Squad guys demonstrate how the drive is used. Find a computer club or a local computer guru.

How to put songs on The Simpletech Drive?

Just plug the Simpletech in the old computer that has the songs on it. Your computer will recognize the Simpletech drive. You can copy (from your old computer) and paste your songs to the Simpletech drive. Maybe all the songs you want will be in your My Music folder under My Documents. If so, you can just copy the whole My Music folder to the Simpletech.

Once you have the songs on the Simpletech, you can now plug it into the new computer. You can copy an paste from the Simpletech to your My Music Folder on the new computer.

You can also use the drag and drop instead of copy and paste.

My simpletech 60GB storage device does not show up in my list of available drives when connected. The storage device blinks for a few moments when connected but then the light goes out. I can feel the...

A lot of NEWER SimpleTech drives have some new technology called NDAS (NetDisk Attached StoragE), which eliminates the need for IP addresses on a network. Its highly secure and very hard to find, unless you have the software available for it.
Download these drivers and you should be able to get to your stuff. Good luck and have a great day!

Song files donn't STAY in iTunes

The songs are located on your Simpletech drive. You have to move them to your music folder and then specify where the library is in iTunes. If you do have music in your music folder, then on XP, after you have iTunes open, go to Edit -> Preferences. Click on Advanced, and then change the library location.

My hard drive doesn't show up on my lap top

Dear,
Here I would like to tell you most useful thing and that is
when we are using external storage media especially Hard Disk Drive we must handle them very carefully because they consist of Mechanical and electronics parts. Platters are one of them (mechanical). These are very sensitive of dust and are depend on the way you are using it. A minor **** can damage the drive. No doubt problem may be in the hardware for that you can visit the service centre but if we handle it will care then this way it will reduce the chances of problem.
In such way we can operate the media for long time with no problem.
Thanks & Regards,
Rakesh Kumar

Saving my music

Windows media player is probably right because you have moved the music to another location. You might need to rebuild the library.

Use Windows Explorer to check that the music is on the new drive.

Can I also recommend downloading Winamp to play your music, It's free, sounds better and doesn't spy on you!
