Kitchenaid KUDS25SH KitchenAid dishwasher Child Lock light flashing. Followed instructions for turning it off. Hold Energy Saver Dry button for 4 seconds. Light stays flashing. Dishwasher won't work. Cancel doesn't effect it.

The KitchenAid dishwasher "child lock " is on and we can not star

Thanks for using FixYa. To turn off the child lock press and hold the Energy saver Dry for 10-15 seconds. If this does not help the unfortunately you’ll have to replace the control panel. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

If holding the "Energy Saver/Dry" button does not solve the control board problem then most probably the control board would have failed and needs to be replaced .

To identify it we need technical expertise in handling the circuit boards and knowledge on usage of multimeter is must.

If you have trouble finding it, you can check the diagram in the manual of your dishwasher for the exact location for your specific model.
Press and hold down this "Energy Saver/Dry" button for at least four seconds. Make sure that you do not release the button until at least 4 seconds have passed, otherwise the lock will not become disabled.
Check to make sure that the child lock indicator light has turned off. If this light is no longer on, this means you were successful at turning off the child lock. If the light is still on, repeat the process, but try to press and hold the "Energy Saver/Dry" button for a few seconds longer. If it still doesn't work, there may be a more complicated issue with your dishwasher. Consult your manual, or call to the manufacturer or repair man to determine if there is another problem with your dishwasher.
