Computer win xp fails to identify router asus wl520g

Computer win xp fails to identify router asus wl 520g, with newly flashed and up to date firmware, after reboot of Laptop. Problem can be solved by rebooting 520g but I'm looking for fix that prevent the problem premanently. I have two different laptops that expirience the same problem. Both running win xp sp 3. but do think the problem is related to the router.

Is there some way to speed up or boost the rate that the router sends out identification? signals?

The problem is with the xp sp3.. downgrade your OS to sp2 ..this solves your issue.

Unable to input a HYPHEN in portrange
With this particular router you will need to treat the port range field as the port field. You will just have to forward single ports at a time. Which will be fine. In case you need more reference see the link below.

WL 520 GC can only acess net in "default" before encrypting
To enable WEP encryption requires configuration changes in two places the router (WL-520G) and for the network adapter on the associated with the computer expecting to use the wireless router. Do you both believe you made the appropriate changes to both devices required? The router and the computer

Another possible issue is either the router or the network adapter do not support WEP meaning the option is not possible at all.
