Somehow my garage door Sensors (at the bottom of door opening) had debris which caused the Sears Door to go down and then go back up. I carefully removed the debris and now the door is stuck in the down position. Problem is, we always simply used our car-remote to open annd close the door and now we cannot get it up. This is a garage with Only the Garage Door, No side door. Aside brom breaking the Garage Door down is there a way to somehow bypass the remote function? Probably Not, as "Robbers" would use this to gain entrance and steal peoples belongings. Just would like to know how we can get the door open and stay inside until it is fully adjusted. Could the battery bbe low and need to be replaced? Hopefully this will be the answer. We will try to replace the battery when we return home from work today. Any thoughts/ Thanks, Concerned People

There isn't a way to bypass the remote. If you call out a door technician he can drill a hole in the door and use a tool to pull the release handle. They can then install an emergency release using the hole they drilled. This will prevent the problem you are having in the future which is not as uncommon as it may seem Every time you have a power outage you are unable to get into your garage.

I save a Sears HBW0777 garage door opener. When I click my remote to open it, it moves for a second then I hear the opener clicking. The same sound when something is in the way of the door. If I hold...

Unhooking the wires disconnected the safety sensors completely. The safety sensors are required to close the door. Both lights should be on, the lenses should be able to see each other clearly, and the wires between the sensors and the opener must be intact, in order for the system to function properly. Reconnect the wires to the opener, adjust the aim of the sensors, ensure there is no debris in the sensor lenses, and if it still doesn't work, you'll need a set of replacement sensors.

Garage door keeps going back up after going down. second thing light won"t come on when sensor beam on door is broken.

Check your door sensors and make sure the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have bad sensors. This would cause both problems you have.

Door won't close and overhead light blinks 9 (or 10) times. I pulled the manual release and the mechanism then moved up and down fine. I then re-engaged the door and it worked. This has happened 3 times...

Check your IR door sensors. They are likely out of alignment. The can be adjusted by eye. Check that there is nothing blocking the light beam, even spider webs and debris can cause them to act up.
By pressing the wall button and holding the button the door will close fully even if the sensors are defective or blocked..

Door won't cycle

Nothing you do aligning the sensors will cause you to lose a code. Post back with the problem you are having.

Sears garage door opener troubleshooting yellow sensor light, what does it mean< how do I correct, door keeps reversing about a foot before closing completely

It is possible that there is an obstruction hitting the infrared beams causing the door to go back up. There should be a safety mechanism with sensors on each leg of the garage door track with and infrared beam (invisible to the eye) in case pets or children walk under the door when its closing so it will not crush them. Make sure the sensors are clear of obstructions, and check for objects stuck to the bottom of the door. When the door comes down a wet leaf stuck to the bottom of the door will hit the beam and signal it to go back up. Make sure the sensors are pointed at each other correctly ( they might have moved or been hit) and lastly there are settings on the head unit for travel and force. Travel will make doors move further down or up (distance wise) while force pushes or pulls the door up and down harder. Be careful if you adjust these settings, by doing it one at a time, with very little increments. I hope this helps and good luck!

My garage door won't close unless I hold the main button down in the garage. As soon as it closes it opens up again unless I press the button quickly. I can open it up using the remote, but cannot close it...

your garage door has saftey sensors at the door
these are photo eyes
in the owners manuel that came with the opener
that has pictures in it which would help
the photo eyes need to be clear of debri and aimed at each other with no obstruction
there are leds on each sensor and when aimes properly they should be light if i remember correctly
if you can not get them to light then you may have to replace the sensors

Garage door will not go down

The only thing that will cause the main light to flash 10 times and the door to reverse to the open position is a door sensor problem. Check to make sure one of the sensors is not blinking ever so slightly. It can be hard to see. Also make sure direct sunlight is not hitting the lens. Try shading them.

Garage Door won't close

It sounds like the door sensors have been bumped or somehow gotten misaligned. Tweak them until the light on each one is lit and not blinking. They must be pointed at one another.

Doors open but will not close

Check the laser. Make sure that the safety lasers are properly alligned, If the bottom sensors next to the floor on the door rails sounds like it has been moved and just needs to be realigned. Pretty simple work to take care of the problem unless the sensor is broken
