A disk utility to recover nsf-file

put it on the new computer and from the Notes File menu switch to that ID when you need to open the old mail file. You can also use the ID to unencrypt the database so that you can read it using any ID file. hi Igot3,

Question The following error occurs when opening a specific Lotus Approach file (.apr):
"Record Header Size 0x8006 bytes too small."

Cause This issue can indicate a damaged Approach file.
Answer If the error occurs when a file is accessed on a network, try bringing the file down to your local hard drive and opening it from there. If the error does not occur, you may have a damaged network card.
If the issue occurs when the file is opened locally, the file is probably damaged. The only workaround is to restore a backup copy.

Best Practices Tip: It is a good idea to create a backup copy of an Approach file before making any significant design changes. Open the file and from the File menu, choose Save As --> type a different file name. You will be prompted to also rename any associated databases which you can choose to do or not. As long as the .apr is the only file that is corrupt, the backup copy can always be associated with the current .dbf datab
