Just installed Snow Leopard and connected Mail to on Exchange Mail server. Seems to be running fine, except I cannot send large attachment > 8Mb. It looks like it´s trying to send it but nothing happens...
Also experienced crashes while searching for users in the Exhange contact lists.
I ran into this problem back in October and found a solution. By default EWS limits attachment sizes to ~ 8MB. You can customize the size limit by making changes on the Exchange 2007 server.
Modify
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\web.config
and
C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\exchweb\EWS\web.config
Path will vary depending on your Exchange installation. Search for maxRequestLength in both files. Replace with a figure that doubles the actual allowed file size. In my testing 50000KB = 25MB attachment being allowed.
Note there are other settings in the GUI of Exchange that can also limit file send size and are well documented in Microsoft KB.
Note2: You will have to make this change again after every Exchange service pack.

The largest indidual email u can receive including any attachments, is 10MB
BUT
The largest email you can send is 10MB. i.e. the size of your email and any attachments must be less than 10MB.
could be a bug in the software thats why the crashes. Let admin delete your mail account and recreate it again .
The best solution I can think of is to use a large file sending service. Most email servers cannot handle large files like the one you are trying to send and just end up bouncing your emails back. Even if you could get your server to send the file, your recipient might bounce back the email because their email server can't handle it. The best service I've found for sending large files is http://www.tonsho.com
You can send large email attachments using your usual email program or via their website, I have sent REALLY large files (like movie files 5Gb large) throughtheir website. They also let you store your files on their servers for ages. They have free and premium accounts,
Your exchange server email box has limits on how large an
email can be (including the attachments.) This is usally setup by the network adminitrator. It can be increased!! You can ask the admin to do so if the type of attachments are necessary.
There are company rules involved. I have had to increase mailboxes on a regular basis when it became necessary to send large powerpoint and training movies, etc via email. 8 mb attachments are considered quite large.

Ok thanks, but that limitation must be on the Mac Mail side not Exchange - right? Been using Microsoft Exchange Client for ages and never had similar problems.
