Need to have the color wheel rebuilt. New ones are no longer available for your model. You can get the color wheel rebuilt at the following link under color wheels. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/

Hello, the color wheel has gone bad, thats what the noise is, the bearing goes bad and it won't spin fast enough for the sensors to let the set come on. You can buy them and there's a video on youtube on how to change it....tks
It could be the colorwheel but if you dont hear any whinning before the light starts blinking 5 times its probaly the AC in board especially if you have the ATC336 chassis RCA
All projection TVs for RCA
are DLP TVs, with that in mind these TVs have a lamp inside that produces white
light. The color wheel is the one in charge of giving color to that light. Regularly
the color wheel last between 2 to 5 years depending on the daily tv use. Most of
the time when the central barring of the wheel is loose, unstable, or out of
place it will cause the edge of the wheel to make contact with the housing,
producing that whining,
whirling, screeching or hissing sound. These sounds can either produce just a annoying
sound when watching tv or can cause the tv to shut off. When this happens you’ll
have to replace it, if you want to know where to buy, you can look in ebay,
there are many parts you can get at very good bargains, the only thing is that
you buy at a high risk of the part not working ( I had a bad experience). The other
option is to buy at an electronics store online dedicated at selling tv parts,
some can help you trouble shoot your problem and others may have tech support over
the phone (personal recommendation: Discount-Merchant.com ). And last remember
to search your part by part number, NOT by model number, two TVs with same
model numbers but assembled on different dates ( different generation TVs )
will have none compatible tv parts inside, so be very carful.
do you here a whining sound when you plug it up. when these units are first plug up there is a part called the color wheel that spins during boot process. if it doesnt reach speed then the lamp never fires. It is a motor and anything that moves evientally stops moving. it would have to be replace if you can get the part
are you sure when you replaced the lamp you seated it correctly, no really hapens all the time so dont feel bad. also another common error is the lanp door is not seated or closed and locked properly that is the most common problem that happens after a lamp is replaced, or the new lamp is bad never throw out your old one as somr dealers will give you what they call a core refund , they reuse the case around the old lamp. some can be worth as much as 50 to 60 bucks!!! This sounds like the color wheel. If it stopps spinning the tv will not come on and when they go bad you will hear a sound simular to what you are describing. The repair is a delicate one the color wheels are avaialble. If you are not handy with repair i would leave it to a pro.
Pop sound is probably the Lamp or maybe the color wheel. When you unplug and try it on do you hear a whirling or winning sound ? Is it followed by a slight ticking sound ? If you get the whirling and a ticking sound it's probably a bad lamp. If you don't hear the whirling sound you may have a bad color wheel. The parts are both made of glass. The pop you heard was one of them breaking. If you can't tell, order a lamp you will need to change it eventually anyway.
Its the color wheel assy. Its changing speed due to worn bearings. You may also hear a hum coming from the rear of the TV. Seek an RCA authorized service center to resolve this.
