LCD Screen goes white when you open it all the way.

SC-MX20 LCD screen is dead.

I work on this model of samsung the lcd problem is a common thing with this camera
The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed

Replace the Ribbon Wire between the Mini DV unit and the lcd screen. Samsung wanted $136 to repair same issue for me. Screen started with colored lines eventually going to white lines and finally screen went completely black and stayed black. I replaced the Ribbon Wire after purchasing a copy of the systems schematics and repair manuel online. With total cost of everything i bought to make this repair I saved a little over $115 from what Samsung wanted for the same repair.

You still might have a problem with your connector. It might have a cold soldered joints. Try to power on your laptop with no keyboard cover in the way were you can have an access to the place where cable is connected to your motherboard then try to wiggle it a little. If your video is coming up and down, you have a cold soldered joints. Another considerations would be:
1. Your LCD cable
2. Your LCD goes bad

ya, i too had the same problem in this camcoder but it is the connection between the lcd screen and the cam main supply has been burnt so it won't be coming now u better just show it to the service man or repair it soon ,i say thiss piece of camcoder is a waste one the quality of the picture is not good just we can use it as a web cam

I have the same problem and it goes away when i completely flip the display. It looks like the inside ribbon cable need to be replaced.

hi the ribbin in the lcd wears after a time it rubs on the side as you open the lcd a common fault i have just fix min £20 for new ribbin

just buy a new TV, because its costly for repairing
