It's hard to describe such a process to someone, but a quick internet search would get you something like this to help you out: http://www.ehow.com/how_5839_thread-sewing-machine.html

SOURCE: Threading the Bobbin

Place the bobbin in the bobbin case making sure the thread feeds clockwise. Draw the thread through the slot on the case. Continue to draw under the tension spring and through the opening pulling out about 6" of thread. Hold the latch open, position the bobbin case into the suttle and release the latch. THe case should lock into place when the latch is relaeased.

With the top thread, hold out about 5" to the left. While holding on tot he top thread, turn the hand wheel toward you and you should see a loop at the feed dogs. grab the two thread and bring them behind the presser foot.

Need help adjusting the lower tension on my Viking sewing machine. Lower tension causes strait stitches; upper tension (zigzag) adds bunches of thread. I don't know where to adjust tensions. Help.

Generally, bobbin tension is set at the factory and is usually a "last attempt" to alter. Sounds like you are probably experiencing bird nesting or thread nesting which is a top thread issue.

Be sure to install a brand new needle.
Remove the top thread from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread the top thread.
Set the top tension to the mid-point and retest your machine.

Tension is correct when top and bobbin threads meet in the middle of the fabric. It is a tug of war between the two threads. When there is equal pull, the top thread pulls the bobbin thread up and the bobbin thread pulls the top thread down. Increasing the top tension pulls the bobbin thread further up, decreasing top tension will allow the bobbin thread to pull the top thread down.

How do I thread the bobbin of a brother xr-35

fit the bobbin into the bobbin case and feed the thread to the outside through the opening. it does not matter which way round the bobbin is in the case, then insert the case into the machine make one turn with the macine so that the threaded needle drops through the plate. when it comes back up it should pull up the bobbin thread with it. then take the two threads and pull them back and insert your material to be sewn.

I hope this was useful.

Using metallic thread, metallic needle. Bobbin case will not engage bobbin to bring up thread to needle. Bobbin is in correctly.

When using this slippery thread it is possible you need to change things a little. To change I mean you will have to stay with a straight stitch and place your needle at the left side of the plate. It may need to be placed on the right if the hook is rotating the opposite direction. Give it a try both ways to see which way works better. Anyway, you will need to stay with a straight stitch. When you first attempt to bring your bobbin thread up you need to hold on to the upper thread.

My elna sewing machine bobbin won't spin on top to wind thread around. The fly wheel spins though...I've been putting thread on the bobbins by hand.

If the fly wheel is going around then the clutch isn't disengaged to wind the bobbin, you need to pull out the flywheel on your model to disengage the clutch for bobbin winding.

tally_girl_59.jpg
Take thread from thread spool across to bobbin winder thread guide, then back to bobbin and thread the tail through the hole on top of the bobbin. Place bobbin onto spindle on top of machine and then push it against the stop to engage the bobbin winding motor. HOld the thread tail up and start winding slowly until the bobbin core has been covered including the starting point. Stop and trim off the thread tail with scissors. COntinue winding bobbin and give the thread a nudge if needed to wind evening top middle and bottom of the bobbin. A good smooth wind is important. Also don't wind at full speed and keep an eye on the thread reel that the thread is coming off, you don't want it bouncing around as this will **** the thread and stretch then relax it affecting your bobbin wind.

Obviously if you know this and the bobbin winding mechanisim is just not working, then it will need a service/replacement by an Elna repair person.

Need to know how to properly thread , the problem is once we start to sew it moves a little then stops thread tangles on bobbin and breaks from top. we try different ways of threading

Check that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder. The bobbin tension adjustment is the small screw in the plate on the bobbin case that the thread passes under as it comes off the bobbin and goes out. This might not be exactly the same as yours but should give you an idea of the position.

Bobbin thread is comming all the to the top

I know this sounds like an insult, but check FIRST to be sure you have the bobbin inserted in the bobbin case correectly. If it IS in the case right, then check your upper tension. It generally needs to be at 3. Check also to be sure the top thread is between the tension disks. If it isn't, you won't have the right tension to connect the threads. You bobbin also needs to be wound tightly. A loose wind will cause problems with the bobbin thread. If none of these work, the bobbin tension might need to be adjusted by a professional. I hope one of my suggestions helps. If so, please let Fixya know by rating my solution.

Need to know how to thread bobbin

manuals can be purchased @ janome. com. your machine should have a bobbin winder. Set empty bobbin on the bobbin winder pin. Thread spool of thread though guide(or tension wheel on the top of the machine;NOT the stitching tension.) wrap thread around bobbin to start, and push bobbin toward the flywheel. slowly press foot pedal and bobbin should begin to turn. apply more pressure to foot pedal to increase speed. When full, bobbin winder should kick back to stop.

Singer 301a sewing machine does not sew for more than 2 secs...top thread just knots into a huge ball on bottom of fabric...everything is threaded correctly and all tension set well...next step is trash...

Recheck the top thread and bobbin tension for equal balance of thread when sewing. The knotting of thread problem is usually because the tensions are too tight or too loose and/or thread may not be properly threaded. Another reason is when the bobbin thread is wind imbalanced it will cause the thread to knot-up when sewing. This problem is notorious when the bobbin is winded within the bobbin case on some machines. The bobbin thread need to be wind smoothly in the bobbin to avoid this problem.
