Acer gemstone 7520 17" power on problem greenlight flashing

Flashing super select 4wd lights most often occur when the front differential automatic disconnect is not engaging /dis-engaging when you select/deselect 4x4 drive. Causes are:

- front differential sensor switch is damaged or faulty
- actuator rod/shaft jammed / seized (perhaps sand/mud/dirt)
- vacuum lines leak/popped off fittings
- vacuum solenoid valves (2no.) either maybe faulty
- electrical wiring connection issue (ecu/solenoids/switch)
- combination of the above

It is normal -this indicates that the laptop is in "sleep" mode & NOT in shutdown mode.

Acer Aspire One BIOS Recovery The Acer Aspire One has a built-in BIOS recovery routine, which can boot into a minimal BIOS environment via a special boot block to re-flash the BIOS, even if the system does not pass POST and does otherwise not boot anymore. This procedure is also known as Crisis Disk.

First format an USB flash drive with FAT. It does not need to be bootable.

Download the latest BIOS, and extract all files. Put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file with FD suffix in the root directory of the flash drive. The files must not be in a folder. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD before proceeding. It only works with this exact filename.

Turn the AA1 off, and verify both battery and AC adapter are plugged in.

Press Fn and Esc simultaneously, keep them pressed and press the power button. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds. The power button starts blinking at this point. Press it once. The AA1 will now access the files on the flash drive and initiate flashing the BIOS. After a while the power button stops blinking, and the AA1 reboots by itself. Wait patiently.

If it doesn't reboot, but keeps blinking, wait at least a few minutes before turning it off, and try again.

The computer has a problem, even without the battery you should still be able to run the computer on the power supply.
Consult Acer support on hw to get it fixed.

You might want to try another power adapter first before replacing the board though.

If you do decide to replace the board I always use the same exact part number to avoid having to re-install windows, etc. You can do some research though to see if a higher revision will work. That info usually isn't available on the net though :(

If the board is available on the cheap then I'd say go ahead and fix this laptop otherwise lots of them are going for 200-300 this Black Friday ;)

need to turn of Fn keys need to check with acer for that or just push trying one at a time your fn blue keys with the upper f1 f2 ect untill it returns

this could be due to the fault in the ac adapter,please try swapping another adapter if it works then you need to replace your adapter.

i have an acer gemstone and i had a technical fault with thier built in crystal eye webcam and i exchanged it for another laptop and that worked fine. as far as i know acer arent the best of equiptment
