    Same as above

Same as above... I can view the player via Windows Explorer, but when I try to get in to see/transfer files, that dumbass flashlight just searches endlessly. I have to remove the battery to get the "usb connect" to disappear.

Same problem. USB Connect appears on it stays even after remove from computer. Flashlight keeps searching. Removed battery to clear.

Same here as well. It happened after I bought the new T60. Is it possible the pc has updated itself to the T60 and so now won't work with the T30? Thing is I still want to use the T30 as well.

Finally fixed mine. Downloaded newest firmware from http://iriverclix.net/support/mtpupdate/ Ran update and it went to 100%. After unplugging it was still showing USB connection. Left alone for about 10 minutes. Pulled battery out to clear. Turned back on and it started the firmware update on the screen of the T30. After firmware everything works great no more hung USB connections.

Go to http://www.iriver.com/support/down_view.asp?searchProductIdx=73&searchCategoryIdx=1&searchString=new+firmware&page=1&idx=844&tmpSearchProductIdx=&tmpSearchCategoryIdx=&tmpSearchString=

download the updater. unzip the file and run the installation program. after you have install the iriver firmware updater, run the program. it will automatically detect what you need. follow the instructions. if the updater stops at 50% don't worry. wait bout a min or 2 then unplug your T30 and it will update by itself

My iRiver T30 has always had difficulty communicating with my PC, and has only once successfully been able to upload files onto my pc, after MANY attempts. Any suggestions?

There may be a driver issue as I've personally had problems with my iRiver IFP mp3 player and would try to load the driver every time I connected the player to my Windows based computer.

Assuming you have a Windows based operating system, I would completely uninstall the iRiver Music Manager in add/remove programs in the control panel, restart the computer and try reinstalling the program again.

River iFP-190T is an iFP-100 series player. The device has UMS connection type. UMS = Universal Mass Storage seeing the device as a flash drive (also called removable disk).

For music transfers and firmware upgrades iriver PLUS3 must be used. Download iriver PLUS3 going to this site:

Click Support on the left side.
Select Download in the second column.
Select "Download iriver PLUS3" in the page: allow download (when blocked / sometimes download has to be repeated).

The size of the iriver PLUS3 download is 59.3 MB.

Computer / Windows requirements:
  • Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 or later, Windows XP
  • 233 MHz Pentium class processor or better
