How do you turn numeric pad off of a dell inspiron 1501

To enable numeric keypad, just press "NumLk" key.

To enable the keypad, press <Fn><Num Lk>.
To disable the keypad, press <Fn><Num Lk> again.

The <Fn> is the "Function key" and usually has the same color text as the <Num Lk> key text. (Usually blue or green text.) It acts like a special shift key.
