I recently switched both of old ICs(stk392-180) with (stk392-110) only because all the research and searching for parts that I did for this particular model(pv6071c101) mentioned to use the(stk392-110) ICs only to find out that 180s were in the TV.
The picture had extreme bowing, ,jumping, and was out of allignment about 2 inches. Now that I have replaced ICs, the picture has improved to slight bowing in corners, no jumping, and is out of allignment about an inch.I adjusted convergence as much as the TV would allow with remote.
I am boggled. Can someone please help.
You will need service literature that describes how to adjust
convergence in servicer menu......
STK sub you used is ok.........name brand recommended for longer life...Pana,NAP,Tosh,etc.................
Check caps & resistors in area of IC's.........probably ok..
.....................................................................................T.
There are resisters that also go bad.1W axial lead fusible resistors:
1.5, 1.8, 2.2, 2.7, 3.3, 3.9 Ohms.
Try to stick to original part number if possible Pioneer uses this on the PRO-530 / PRO730 models . MCMELECTRONICS has the originals as STK392180 .Also you might want to check capacitors near those ICS for leakage .When these go out they will affect amplification from IC given you not enough adj room .

Thanks!
Could you show me if the capacitors are on this board and the procedure for checking.
Besides checking capacitors for leakage, Is there any kind of adjustments that could need attention for this particular model.
I have replaced 3 open caps on power board and the red and blue are in line, but the green is not.It seems the con. board is checking out fine.I did notice that when I was adjusting the convergence on the menu that the letters in some of the words on the menu were changing and odd symbols were popping up on the screen.Does this mean something specific?
Can someone please help with my last posting on 12/23/07? Thank You
