Re-writeable discs

It should say what discs your writer accepts on the tray of your CD or DVD writer. For instance DVD-R means it takes the negative DVD's. DVD+R means it takes the positive ones. RW means it is compatible with re-writeable discs.

How to Erase a Burned CD

CD-RW stands for CD re-writeable. This type of disc can be written on or "burned" multiple times. However, in order to burn music or data onto a CD-RW that already has something on it, you must first erase the current contents of the disc. No special software is needed to do this, as you can do it with the Windows Media Player program, which already comes installed on all computers with the Windows operating system. Regular CD-R discs cannot be erased or reused--the discs must be labeled as CD-RW.

Instructions
Step 1.
Click on the "Start" menu button in the lower left-hand corner of the screen. Select "Windows Media Player" from the pop-up menu.
Step 2.
Select the "Library" tab in the main Windows Media Player screen.
Step 3.
Insert the CD-RW that you want to erase in the CD-ROM drive. Close the "AutoPlay" window if it appears.
Step 4.
Right-click the CD-ROM drive in the "Navigation" pane on the left side of Windows Media Player. Select "Erase disc" from the drop-down menu. This will automatically erase the contents of the disc.

Why won't a CD-RW disc play in my car CD player?

Some of the older cd players, car or otherwise, just aren't capable of recognizing CD-RW's. The player in my 10 year old Ford Mondeo doesn't, but the updated model player in the newer Mondeo does play CD-RW's.

Where can i buy a CD-RW Audio(rewritable) for my CDR 775 Audio Cd recorder?

Web search for them, check eBay. ANY media that has 'digital audio' in its description will work. They don't have to be re-writeable.

How do I format a disc (DVD or CD) on Windows XP?

You only format a CD/RW or a DVD/RW, which are re-writeable.

Regular discs do not need to be formatted (CD-R or DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+R DL, etc.).

To format the DVD/RW idisc, use the "burner" software ( Sonic?, Nero?) and choose [Tools] [Erase Disc] (erase is the same as format)

Won"t see blank disc

given my experience with memorex blanks, i think that you should just switch to another brand....memorex made great tape....the cd blanks are another story. I recommend, if you can find them, FUJI blanks that are made in Japan; they have a reputation as some of the best.
