I lost my manual for my Protron DVD player and I changed TVs and I don't know or remember how the cable connections are supposed to be between the player and the TV. Could you e-mail me just the page showing how to connect. I can get the soundtract but not the picture. Can you help me? Mark Kokoefer

Your illustration is too complicated for my situation. I don't have a cable box or a switch box or a VCR. Just the DVD player and TV. Can you address this? Mark

My TV is a APEX model # PF2720. Mark

Your new solution looks just like the first. I only have the Protron model PD007 and the AMPEX model # PF2720, nothing else. Mark

The diagrams you show me are not like the connection ports on the back of either of my equiptment. They are too simple. There are 7 jacks on the back of the DVD, and 15 jacks on the back of the TV. If I had the colored jacks you show I would be an idiot not to be able to hook it up myself. What I have confuses me be cause the jacks, especially on the TV are very poorly indicated. Please continue to help me please. Mark

I don't understand, your second e-mail solution is just like the first. Perhaps we should communicate by phone so we could get on the same track. My number is 513 221 1217. Please respond. Mark

    Hi

if you finding it complicated you can follow the procedure--

    Component Video Connection

Get a component video cable. This cable has 3 sets of connectors, one each for the red, blue and green color signals.

Match the connectors to the appropriate video output jacks on the DVD player.

Component video outputs will normally be labeled Cr/Cb/Cy. The Cy output jack is matched to green, Cr to red and Cb to blue.

3Run the cable from DVD player to the TV. Most TV connections are made from the back panel, but this may vary.

4Match the connectors to the appropriate video input jacks on the TV.

    S-Video Connection

Get an S-video cable. This cable has a single round connector with 4 pins.

Attach one end of the S-video cable to the S-video output jack on the DVD player.

Attach the other end to the S-video input jack on the TV.

    Composite Video Connection

Get a composite video cable. These types of cables are frequently bundled with two-channel audio cables. Composite video cables are tipped with yellow plugs.

Plug one end of the composite video cable into the composite video output jack on your DVD player.

Plug the other end into the composite video input jack on your TV.

See this link for more details--

What channel should the tv be on when hooking up my dvd player?

Hello
Hook the TV to DVD player with AV cable. Select AV from the TVs menu. This is the pciutr of the AV cable. It will have three wires, and you should connect it with your DVD and TV according to its instructions. OK.

Lost my manual. Displays Error Parental and will not play movie. I have watched previous movies but don't know their rating. This movie was PG-13. I don't think I ever set any parental controls...

hi, I tried to find you a user manual for you to solve the problem but I failed... sorry but without user manual it is hard to propose a solution for your problem since it is spesific issue on that model.. I only recommend to you to go to "MENU" and scrool down on the sub menus to find out a control for this issue that you can alter..... Additionally ,Here is some information I found out about Protron company:

Protron and Spectroniq are the same company. I just visited the Protron web site "www.protronusa.com" it is dead and it has not been updated since 2007. I believe the company is no longer in business and will doubt if you will find a Protron Service Center. If and when needed,You are very lucky to find a repair shop that will attempt to work on the DVD , most will not. The internet is plagued with issues with protron products .

http://www.epinions.com/reviews/Protron_PD_800
by the way based on google search ;" PROTRON " is being sued by " PROTON " for name brand name -copy right infringement.

Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote for me to continue for Helping out the Community :)

No user manual for Protron PDV-288 portable DVD player

nahh you cant over chargee silly;; when its done, its done, it just doesnt loose battery power. and im not positive about the light.. but i would most likely assume that when the green light is on, that means its charging.. thats how pretty much every electronic works.. light on-charging; light off-no charge. sometimes it varies by different color lights.

thanks ! hope i was helpful.
