Access the router's built-in web-interface, and access the router's web-page where you "enabled" the port-forwarding. Then, "remove" or "delete" the settings.
Then, access the router's web-page that defines which of your computers/XBOX is to be placed into the 'DMZ' ("De-Militarized-Zone"). Put your XBOX, not your desktop, into the 'DMZ', to allow it "full" access to the Internet, i.e., bypassing the protection of the "firewall" that is inside your router.
Nevermind. For some reason it took a while(like a day) for the settings to take effect(!?). Don't know why - the Linksys always took effect immediately. *sigh*
NAT Configuration is also called Port Forwarding. You can simply open the ports by going to the router's setup page http://192.168.1.1 no username and password is admin. You can do it under Applications and Gaming tab, Port Range Forwarding.
hi,
there are two things to be addressed in this case.firstly you have a satellite internet provider which can create consistency issue.then when you connect a xbox to router you need to do a port forwading on linksys router(port forwarding=opening ports in router so your xbox can communicate freely).in order to do the port forwarding you have to log onto router user interface.then go to applications and gaming tab, where you can do the port forwarding.
but before doing so,you have to contact microsoft to know the ip address assigned to the xbox and the ports(numbers) to be opened.
thank you.
You did not have this problem before because port forwarding was set on the previous router settings, or you were using a modem ( no firewall) . Here are instruction for port forwarding Here are more instuctions One last thing, if your computer is powerful enough (1gb memory would be good), use Azureus, is much better.
