The Xbox 360 1 red light error is one of the most common problems on the Xbox 360 platform.Basically, the reason the Xbox 360 1 red light occurs is due to DVD or hard drive errors. Whilst these are not as common as graphics card malfunctions (which account for most instances of the "red ring of death" problem)
Therefore, if you have one red light in the power ring of your Xbox 360, you can be confident that this problem is caused by a hard drive error or a DVD problem. The next step in fixing the problem is to determine exactly which component the problem is with, ie whether the error is being caused by a hard drive fault, or whether it is being caused by a DVD drive fault.
To do this you need to consult the error code which appears on your TV screen when you try to turn your console on. If the code displayed is either E67, E69, or E79 then it is a hard drive problem. If it is E64, E65 or E66 then it is a DVD drive problem, which is slightly easier to fix. However, generally both of these errors are remedied by re-attaching the connector leads which can come loose, or by adjusting the "X" clamps on your console's motherboard.
