Camera (DMC-FZ10) got wet in a rain storm. Now

Camera (DMC-FZ10) got wet in a rain storm. Now when I turn it on the "On" light blinks once and nothing happens. If I hold down the shutter button the "On" light will blink but nothing else happens. The battery is charged and I have used the plug-in power source with the same results

I suspect that water has damaged the electronics board in the camera. Unfortunately this is not a waterproof camera. Water will corrode the electronic components and eventually ruin the whole camera,
My suggestion is to claim it on insurance as they wilol repair or replace it on Home insurance. No one puts a camera in water intentionally unless its an underwater camea, so its considered an accident

Using a sdhc card in a Panasonic DMC-FZ10


There is no "new" firmware upgrade for this model. Meaning it is NOT compatible with the SDHC card. Largest you can get is an SD 2GB card.

Check the makers website- they will give you an estimate- which I guess will be nearly as much a buying a new camera . Thats the way it goes.
