Poor print quality

Try printing a test page, which shows a sample of the colors in the ink cartridge individually, usually yellow, cyan and red. It may be that the blue ink is getting low. You did not say whether you were printing text (black) or photos (color).

hello, you are using the photo color ink cart, have you tried running a cleaning cycle or test print, the reason why i ask, is that maybe 1 of the colors is not printing, the test pages would prove what color is missing, if black not printing, it would print possible blue, or no black at all. i know you have put in new inks, but since the volume of ink in these cartridges run out according to usage, one color might run out before the others, and since black and yellow are the most used colors, without them your prints will show color faults.

I have poor print quality on my Lexmark 4550

That obviously shouldn't happen. Did you print an alignment page after you inserted the new cartridges? There could also be some clogged nozzles on the new cartridges. If you haven't contacted Lexmark technical support through www.lexmark.com, suggest you do so.

Smasung ML2510 Laser print quality poor especially on graphics

Full isn't always the answer, in order to refill a cartridge properly you need to also replace the cleaning blade inside. The blade wears out and doesn't clean the drum properly and also lets toner leak all over. Your best bet is a new OEM cartridge, or put a new cleaning and Dr. blade in yours.

Print quality poor

I think its a cartridge issue.
try to wipe the cartridge on a wet cloth and run a maintenance on it by printing a maintenance page..
go to your printer panel and select maintenance option and print a maintenance page ...if the problem still persist ..
you need to replace a new cartridge in order to get a good quality of print-outs..

the messages you get for cartridges other than the original are not trustful. You will get the right reading for original(from Brother) cartridges. Some ink is poor for printing photo quality.

not any refillable ink is right for printing photos, sometimes too dark, sometimes you don't get the right mix of colors.

Using far too much ink

This came from brothers website:

The Yellow ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Magenta ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Cyan ink cartridge yield is up to 300 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.
The Black ink cartridge yield is up to 350 pages @ 600 x 150 dpi when printing at 5% coverage on A4 sized paper.

so it appears that what you are experiencing is not normal and you may have a leaking printer.

There is one thing you can check though, everytime you print, make sure that you are not printing at the highest quality option selectable as this almost certainly will fire out more ink than regular printing... choose a middle quality option or even draft option if you will be printing regular text.
