Bose music system remote is inconsistent.

The notoriously unreliable SMD capacitors which Bose installed are long defective. That's just the start of your problems.

You'll need to replace those defective capacitors with much higher-quality units than the original.

Only a tech experienced with SMD work should attempt this repair.

Replacing the PCB will solve your problem for only a short time, as you are just getting the original standard junk again, but new.

I own Wave Redio/CD. My new remote is Wave Music System and does not work. Why not?

The Bose Wave Radio and Wave Music System use different IR codes. It is no other reason other than Bose made the remotes incompatible. This is often done to prevent interferance with systems that may be close to each other.

HI I have a bose wave music system model AWRCC1 and need a battery for the remote. I need to know what battery I purchase and where I can purchase it.

You can find these just about anywhere batteries are sold.

Replace only with Duracell, Eveready, Energizer, Maxell, Toshiba, or Shun Wo CR2032 or DL2032, 3-volt Lithium battery.

My bose wave system is no responding to the remote. Anything I can do?

The only user serviceable part of this fine system is the battery in the remote. The battery used in most of these remotes is the "button" or "coin" type cell "CR-2032"You can find these at Walmart, Radio Shack, CVS etc. for just a few bucks. Bring the remote batteries with you to match to a replacement.

If that doesn't work, you may need a replacement remote or the radio may need repair.

Good luck!

The remote for my Bose Wave radio-CD no longer works. I have changed the battery and put a new battery into another Bose remote--no luck and I want to play my Christmas CDs! Help!

  • Reset the system by disconnecting the power cord from the wall for one minute, then plug it back in

  • Make sure you’re pointing the remote directly at your Wave® music system. If the system is placed above table-top height, be sure to angle the remote upward while pointing

  • Check for possible sources of interference with the remote’s infrared (IR) signal, such as bright lights or solar glare off of a window. Make sure nothing is blocking the path of the signal from the remote to the Wave® music system display. The remote will not work properly if there is something directly in front of the display

  • Wipe off the small clear lens on the front end of the remote

  • The remote is designed to work within 20' of the system. Greater distance may cause intermittent response

Remote control of Bose WaveMusicSystem

First have the remote tested. You can buy a basic Infra-red tester at Radioshack for about $6. If the remote is putting out signal, the Bose will have to be serviced. Call them and get an RMA # and they will fix it for a flat rate.
